I haven't seen this anywhere, but now that you can invite players to duel in hisec, is it possible to have an alt duel your freighter for the purposes of webbing it to jump faster between gates?

yes

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

That only applies to scrubs, I trust everyone in my corp.

It's almost like the OP said "alt" in his post for a reason.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

Or you know, if you have friends in your corp you could ask them nicely to help you... That is if you don't just afk autopilot your freighter like most do and end up losing it.

Edit: Or get your alt in the same corp?

Play EvE how you want to play it and do not let others dictate how you play. Evolve your playstyle to protect yourself from others! Even in "PVE", "PVP" is there, lurking in the shadows.

Eve is so cutthroat, you can't trust your own alt.

You never know what your hand is going to do when it's on a separate account!

Wouldn't it be easier to just have both alts in the same fleet/corporation?

Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

I'd probably shoot my hauler alt just to get on my own lossmail... Just in case I really get attacked. That way I can always claim it was part of some kind of elaborate plot to scam the hell out of some random dudes corporation.

Why exactly did you need to ask this question? If you know what a duel is, then the answer should have been obvious to you.

My only guess is he might have deatl with other games where "abuse of game mecanics" are enforced in a very different way. Some game would consider putting your freighter in combat to have it warp faster to be an abuse because the duel system was not put into palce to do this. This is all null and void in EVE of course where if you can do it, it's legit to do so.

That's not entirely true, but for the vast majority of cases it is.
CCP will never declare webbing freighters an exploit, whether you use the dueling mechanic to do it or otherwise. It's not abuse.

I know it's not an abuse in EVE. I was only showing why the question might of been asked. Some games have a track record of patching/hotfixing those creative use of game mecanics. CCP like seeing thier player look outside the box more than other developper.

Wouldn't it be easier to just have both alts in the same fleet/corporation?

Except a NPC corp wouldn't help, and being in the same fleet wouldn't change a bit.

Noone's stopping him from creating his own corp... Except his fear of not yet existent wardecs...

It looks easier than going through the hassle of inviting his alt to a duel and accepting it every time he enters a system. Might even be faster...
