How people actually showed up? Was it cool to talk about EVE with actual people rather than just computer pixels?

Time to revive this idea. Had a great time talking eve. Perhaps a more central and maybe a little quieter venue would be better, especially for the older guys. Let's do this again.

Sounds like a cool thing to do. I'd like to meet up with some folks who play this sometime! Trying to get a few other guys back into Eve again, (all in Edmonton area), no luck so far though.

Ok, the first meet up was too good a thing to not let this revive and thrive as a regular thing. Short notice I know, but I suddenly have the weekend free, so I would be able to do something about this. If I remember right Anton (Melerose) worked nights, so I figured a drop in and out kind of thing. There is a BP's close by on 124 Street and about 105 ave, which should be pretty central to ease the burden of travel on all of you. But then, as fun as it would be for the all day' ers it might be a bad idea and somewhat expensive. But better than us doing nothing.
So, I also thought , I live within a block of 124 street and 107 avenue, perhaps I could host an all day drop in and out kind of thing, so all could make it. If you have an hour or two, come by, meet some good folks and talk eve. If you want to stay all day to meet the drop ins, ok too. I make a pretty good burger and could throw some food on, byob for the fun, if you want some.
Pretty sure I could set up a designated driver as well, for some reasonable compensation for that person, a tip if you will.
Anyway, let me know here if there is any interest in such an idea. If it is a go for the pub great, for here if you prefer, great, the address will be mailed to you if we want to do something.

My sincerest apologies guys. my day did not turn out as expected and I was rather busy all day. However, I need to get out of the house, and am going to run an errand or two, then stop in to the BP's on 124 street and I think 105 ave. Lot's of parking in the alley behind it. I'll hang out for a couple of hours in case anyone wishes to get out and talk eve. I'll have my phone and will keep an eye on this forum, let me know if you can come out. Once again, sorry about the late notice. Worse thing that can happen is I have a few beers by myself. I should be able to be there in an hour or so, around 5:30.
