Command ships and the change...

Does anyone know how the bonuses are going to be changed?

I read that along with the skills needed to fly command ships, ccp was changing the bonuses given to the ships. Has anyone seen a dev post any info about these changes yet?

All gang link bonuses are being changed, though I swear it's on the devblog for the summer ship change.

As I cannot find the original Dev blog here are the changes (taken from the pic I dl'd of them).

Command Ships: [hint there are 2 per Race]

  • Now = 0/3% bonus to ONE Warfare type per race.

  • After = 3/3% bonus to TWO Warfare types per Race.

  • Strategic Cruisers (T3):

  • Now = 5% bonus to ONE Warfare type per Race.

  • After = 2% bonus to THREE Warfare types per Race.

  • Gallente gains Armor bonus
    Minmatar gains Shield bonus
    Amarr gains Speed bonus
    Caldari gains Info bonus (those poor bastards)

    T3's get all but 1 bonus per race (Gallente = no Shield, Minmatar = no Info, Amarr = no Shield, Caldari = no Armor).

    The Operative: "There are a lot of innocent people being killed in the air right now".

    Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: "You have no idea how true that is".

    I don't see them gettting info warfare as being so bad. Mix one vulture with a mix say shield cane/harb /drake crew and slap in 1 infowarfare for the falcon/scorp in the crew. Could be a good mix. Would have liked skirmish more but I guess I can let amarr have it so they stop whining about plate weight and less speed. If thier fleet booster hasn't skilled up skirmish, thats on them to find a better booster now lol.

    Yeah, that's always bugged me. Shield gets the shaft by only being available on 2 races ships, but everybody and their mom, and their dog, and their dog's mom gets skirmish. If skirmish is so damn important that everybody needs it, I think that might be saying something...

    It depends, in part, on how your ECM is fit. The info links are stack penalized with SDAs. All the info links really do is free up a low slot that would have been used by an SDA on your ECM boats. Most of the time, an unbonused skirmish link is the better choice.

    An info link is a fine choice if you armor fit your ECM. They need all the lows they can get. But If you shield buffer and nano them out, why bother with info links?.. They can fit 3 SDA no problem & they have enough low slots to do what they need to do.

    Info links boost all EWAR strength, their range and increase sensor strength of the fleet, seeing them only as SDA replacement is a pretty narrow view.

    Reading comprehension FTW.

    You will only need the BASIC (skirmish/information etc) warfare skills plus the general warfare link specialist skill.
    Maybe take a look at your own link?

    For the ships themselves no specific values have been posted yet. I personally hope that they will just get better tank bonus and link bonus compared to tech 1 combat battlecruisers. Their DPS should remain the same.

    Also I hope CCP will evaluate the possibility of giving information warfare to Amarr and skirmish to Gallente. It serves them beter being more small gang oriented.

    Wrong the info I posted is a direct copy from CCP's picture of the EXACT changes to the CS's and T3, by SPECIFIC SHIP, I just generalized it to save writing a book since I can't find the DevBlog. The CS's are ALL getting better DPS output and the T3's are getting a nerf to the bonus % but gaining (3) link types instead of 1.

    Ill be severely disappointed if the Damnation (and the other Fleet CS) don't get an increase in DPS. The Devs stated they wanted to make all command ships combat oriented unless otherwise fit (links), this would put Fleet Command Ships at a horrendous disadvantage in the combat arena if their DPS is left untouched.

    As I interpret it, the Devs are trying to make Command Ships actually fielded more often. Currently Damnations are typically only uses 1 per fleet to boost. Absolutions are too expensive to be used often when a Harbinger can put out similar DPS and slightly less tank for a fraction of the cost.

    Well my understanding of that original thread is that all CS's are getting a DPS increase. Now "increase" is loosely worded and they gave no indication of what so they could be talking about 1-100 DPS increase instead OMFG-NERF-OP-CS's like we'd all love hehe. Hell I'd be happy to see a realized increase of 100-150 DPS for each ship type, but something tells me I'm hoping a little high on those numbers. Still any increase paired with dual gang bonuses will certainly make players look more seriously into the HUGE SP sink that is a single Race's Command Ship (compared to any other sub-Cap ship).

    Pretty sure new CSs will have the same role, just with different bonuses and primary weapons system. If anything, Damnation will be losing one of its tank bonuses in favour for damage bonus.

    I think he was talking about HP, slot layouts, non-link-related bonuses etc. No such data available yet.

    Those changes are not set in stone. Just proposed (and will probably happen). The original dev blog can be found here. It also has 50 pages long threadnaught. I will however highlight this comment from CCP Fozzie. He states that switching information to Amarr an Skirmish to Gallente is pretty much on the table.

    Good point. And boo, I really hope Gallente still gets Armor instead of Skirmish but alas we probably will be the only race with no tank bonus >.<

    I hope the damnation doesn't get a tank nerf because there great now so much fun but a real damage buff will help a lot mine peaks at like 300 dps after drones

    I use it for 10 out of 10s in null better tank then my paladin the marauders need a buff if there not to get over shadowed by tec 2 bc's

    and the abso needs some tank fix but there fun to

    The only major drawback is the crazed notion that the inventory would look so much better if merely rearranged ONE MORE TIME.

    The damnation is almost guaranteed to be made less tanky so its just like the other ships in its class
