So PVEing in Guristas NPC space with a Tengu, I have a sensor strength of 82. I accomplished that by adding a ECCM- Gravimetric II to one of my medium slots.

I'm wondering if thats a bit of an overkill. With all Skills at V and without the module, it drops to 42. I was wondering if anyone has experience with this. I would like to swap the module for a target painter or web etc, but hate being jammed for 10 secs, sometimes 20.

Basically how much sensor strength is too much? Is there a happy medium or is the module a requirement?

unless its been changed - rats cheat with ecm

They jam a flat rate at a specified average for the spawn, your eccm strength does not make any difference.

however.... if they have changed it then i dont know

Using ECCM seemed to reduce the jamming frequency when I fitted some but that might be anecdotal occurance...

ECCM did seem to help when I was using a Tengu ratting in Venal. Also makes it harder for players to get you as well.

NPC jamming was adjusted some time back to be based on sensor strengh, so fitting ECCM will help against it.

If you want to get jammed less you use ECCM, but if you feel they don't jam you enough for it you drop it for something else. Try both and see if you think it's okey without it. If not just keep using one ECCM module (two are usually overkill, even for PvP anti-jamming).

you can try a sensor backup array in the lows to see if that wokrs better to free your mid slot.

Or you can run talon implants and your jam resist is literally all inside your head.

Or you can mix all 3 and be really jam resistant and you will be really hard to find short of max skill prober with virtues.
