Dream Ideas

I'm going to post a few of my dream ideas. It'll be wordy. I'll use headers. It's not dedicated to any single thing.

- Deadspace for Rent
I would love the idea of setting up a non-moon POS in a deadspace. Maybe a pocked that already exists via mission, or more likely the ability to build your own acceleration gate to get to one. You'd have to find it with probes the first time, or know how to get there. And inside? Our own little world.
Put as many POS's as you want. Limit the amount of 'guns' per room. Be careful and don't get camped inside of one. But just a private spot to call 'home' for a group of capsuleers. Cause lets be honest, if the ******* NPC's can do it, so should we.

- Group Meeting Rooms
Incarna will eventually, hopefully, get here. I want to walk into a room, and see other players and their avatars. Dust bunnies too, hell, why not? Sit at a conference table, chat in 'local'. Perform a few animations. I really could care less that it isn't useful. The simple concept of looking someone in the face ... that's worth it to me.
Though, being able to pull up group holograms run by one person, like maps, fittings, etc ... not a bad idea either. Let us run our own powerpoint presentations in space.
No, I'm not joking. Players would go from Powerpoint at work ... to powerpoint in EvE. How ironic.

- Ship Spinning 2.0
Incarna again. I'm standing there, looking at my ship. Give me a little control mechanism on the computer there in front of you, and let me spin my own ship. Even better, put my top 10 ships in there, and let me rotate between them. THEN ... incorporate that hologram idea in with fittings, and let me switch and add fittings while looking at my ship. Yep, a bit much, but that touch of awesome.

- Ship Skins
Sure an alliance logo. But I'd love to just be able to choose my own style and paintjob. Jeez, that doesn't make me gay does it? Hot pink all the way (pink used to be considered a color for boys, not girls).

- Private Structures
Mini POS'. From pleasure hubs to whatever. Just private little places for ourselves.

- Maneuvers and Tactics
Something to make small-scale pvp more efficient, and thus, bring the blobs down a notch. Ship movements, squad orientation, 'abilities' which provide bonuses to the squad for completing them. Maybe a mini game which gives extra dps or makes you harder to hit.
Yeah, I know it sounds like other MMO's. But I've been considering this a long time. I don't want it to become an F1-F10 ability, mind you. And if we get an ability bar I'll flog someone. But something special would be cool.

- Exotic Space
These ideas originated well before wormholes hit the scene, but they're still valid. It's that empty place that can't be categorized, can't be charted. Randomly generated, only available for a small period of time. Exotic locations, enemies, events. Often lonely, not a place to live.

- NPC Interaction
Livening up the regular space some more. More pirates, more patrols, more miners and the like. NPC's all over, friendly and enemy. Convoy's, etc. Hiring NPC's to be guards of your installations (see private structures, deadspaces, and player generated content). Sure, they can't fight off a capsuleer, but they add FLAVOR.

- Alleys
These are more interesting. It's about increasing the number of ways to travel between systems. Wormholes do a great job (again, pre-wspace concept). Deadspace gates would be another way. Backdoor ways to move between systems, unmapped and ever changing.

- More Places to Fight
Increase the amount of gates, and let players fight out in space. Let warp bubbles pull people off regular flight paths in between gates. The addition of faction warfare and plexes really addressed a lot of this, but I'm looking at making it happen in nul, losec, even hisec.

- More Player-Generated Content
Nowadays, this means pvp. And sure, more of that **** too. But I also like the concept of creating missions, making my own adventures for friends and nobodies. I like immersing myself with the non-player eve world alot. Agents, stations, environments, pirates, politics. Let me add my share to it.

- More to DO!
Hey, we're entering that stage where fighting each other? Yeah, we got that. And we do it well. Lets find additional stuff like I've listed hear. Making your own home, shinying up your ship, clothing, shops, hangouts, etc. Up to this point, EvE lets us truly create two things that exist verbatim in this universe: social interactions, and cool alliance logo's (tips to you, Gentleman's Agreement, for your peanut guy). It's about time it let us create much, much more.

If you're driven to threaten others with harm or violence because of what they do in game, you can't separate fantasy from reality. That "griefer/thief" is probably more sane than you are. How screwed up is that?

Some I like very much some I don't like at all lol, in fact the only one im not keen on is manouvers and tactics, unless of course it was done in such a way as to make it fit in (maybe with trained ship crew that's attached to your ship like a rig, 1 crew per ship)

I like the ideas though :)

I liked Deadspace for Rent and Private Structures, things about NPC bodyguards not so much - taking care of your stuff should be on your shoulders.

Overall +1 from me.

I'll expand on MY take of these Maneuvers.

Obviously they are ship and group functions independent of your ships fitting or your skills. Maneuvers would be 'collected' (either with certain skills, by earning certificates, or completing tasks such as live events, CCP sponsored tournaments, or missions/incursions). They could not be taken away by death or dismemberment, or traded.

Maneuver bonuses would be in the 2% - 5% category. Capable of being overcome by faction rigs or simply more knowledge and ability. Not a game breaker.

Each maneuver would occupy a 'slot' above your shield/armor/hull readout in space. M1, M2, and M3. You would assign any maneuver you have to that slot, though it would only apply to your level of combat and if you are a gang leader.

Maneuvers would be broken down into individual, squad, wing, and fleet. While there are more individual maneuvers that offer solid bonuses, these cannot be used to help out your squad mates or other members of your fleet. If you are a squad leader, there are still powerful maneuvers which you can use to override the individual maneuvers of that slot (i.e. the squad leaders M1 slot cancels out his members M1 slot). The same applies to wing, then fleet maneuvers.

The 'golden zone' would be squad maneuvers, as these would hold the most capability and benefit, as well as the most options. At the wing and fleet level, the number of options and the overall effect would dwindle, until at fleet you essentially have the option to focus your attack, warp faster, or increase shield or armor.

These maneuvers would be more powerful if given from squad/wing/fleet commanders actually occupying command ships and the ever requested 'flagship' class ship.

The shape and style of these maneuvers would be up for debate. Off the top of my head I see actions which would nullify a single attack, or help you enter warp faster, or cause you to be able to lock coming out of warp quicker, etc.

Are love essential? No. Obviously we can kill each other perfectly fine as is. And if you make the benefits too small, they'll be useless. But the gist, the desire, is to create a mechanic that firmly supports solo and small-scale pvp as a more efficient and effective means of fighting than the blob. There are many ways of doing this (like putting a stacking penalty on combined fire/repair on a single ship, for example). This is just one crazy idea.

Plus ... how come my interceptor doesn't fly around all cool like the CCP videos show?
