What are the terms/names given to Capsuleers and Dust troopers? Both by players and in the fiction/lore.

Thanks.

Capsuleers are known as, well, capsuleers (the shocker!). Or eggers. Or pod pilots. But the general official term is still 'capsuleer'. As for the Dust mercenaries, i, personally, call them 'dust bunnies' :)

DUST mercs are also referred as "cloners".

Dusties. There may not be an IC origin for this term and variants, but the constant OOC usage of it has forced it into IC lexicon.

Capsuleers are also sometimes called Empyreans and immortals.

Watch_ Fred Fred Frederation_ and stop cryptozoologist! Fight against the brutal genocide of fictional creatures across New Eden! Is that a metaphor? Probably not, but the fru-fru- people will sure love it!

EVE Online characters: "Capsuleers", "pod pilots", "eggers" (defamatory), "empyreans". Also "immortals" (shared with DUST characters) or just "pilots", "commanders" or "captains". (Shared with mortal pilots, commanders and captains.)

DUST 514 characters: "Clone soldiers", "cloners". Also "immortals" (shared with EVE characters) and "mercenaries" (shared with DUST characters), possibly combined as "immortal mercenaries". I'm not sure is there's an IC explanation for DUST, but that'd add "dusties" and "dust bunnies". Possible IC intermediate solution to "dust" comes from the term "dustside" or "dustbount" referring to planetary populations (see quote below). This would give us "dust(bound) immortals" and other similar variants in contrast for "empyrean immortals". ("Empyrean" means "of the highest heavens", from Dante Aligheri's "La divina commedia".)

She waved dismissively at him and knelt slowly, pulling her long braid of synthetic blond hair behind her shoulder as she ran her hand across the concrete landing platform, tilting her head to examine her palm when it came back covered in a thin layer of dust and small pebbles. Smiling, she stood up and rubbed her hands together, nodding for the entourage to continue on their way to the cathedral’s spaceport terminal a short distance away. Despite the glaring sunlight reflecting off the glass paneled surface, she could see several figures anticipating her arrival near the main entrance.

As she led the group to the terminal, the last two armed escorts established positions near the ship, one of them leaning in closer to the other and whispering, "What was that all about?"

Not taking his gaze off of his responsibility, he whispered back, "It’s been a while for her."
