Another Battlecruiser Reimbursement Question???

Author

I currently have Amarr Cruiser 4, Gallente Cruiser 3, Minmatar Cruiser 3 , Caldari Cruiser 3 and Battlecruiser 5 trained. My question is, will I get reimbursed for all Racial Battlecruisers V with this current setup when the skill change arrives? Or will i only get reimbursed with Amarr Battlecruiser V because I trained the my Amarr Cruiser skill 1 level higher than the others? I really hope this made sense, and thanks in advance to anyone who can answer it.

You will receive all racial battlecruiser skills at level 5.

you (should) get all 4 BC skills, because you'll meet the post-Odyssey prereqs of [racial cruiser] 3.

That said, this has a high likelyhood of something going pear shaped with the skill changes, so might as well just get Cruiser 4 for the other races -- especially if you actually fly them.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

What is happening is that you will recieve racial Battlecruiser skill equal to your current battlecruiser skills IF you have the require level of racial cruiser which is 3.

It is noteworthy to point out that if you don’t have a racial Cruiser at 3, then you won’t receive the corresponding racial Battlecruiser skill. It is thus worthwhile to train all Racial Cruiser skill at 3, then focus on maximizing Battlecruisers before the reimbursement happens.

Normally you would have received all Battlecruiser skills at V.

But then you went and started another bloody battlecruiser skill change thread on top of the hundreds (yes hundreds) that have already been made. So instead, you will be having the battlecruiser skill removed from your skill point pool, and no free SP will be awarded.

The Free SP is only a cosmetic recompensation at best. If you have Battlecrusier's V now, you will be able to fly all race's battlecruisers at level V. (Redundant, I know.) IF you have all the crusier skills to 3, nothing changes for you after the battlecruiser changes. You just have more SP. Yay.Straight All you did differently was spend a few days training other racial cruisers and frigates that you don't use in the first place. Hell, if you even leave, say, Amarr cruiser's abandoned and don't have the BS trained for them, you are now worse off than before even though you have more free SP.

I really don't get the "OH MY GOD 6+ MILLION SP YAY." That some people seem excited for. Of course, I'll be training for it because I'm not stupid, but the free Sp will be effectively nothing of a gain.

Unless I suddenly decide I want to fly Caldari BC for some reason.

The free SP is a loss, only thing it does is make your clones more expensive.

You should receive nothing. Because you are too stupid to read/look up dev blogs.

My clones will be more expensive and my character will not be able to do anything new or better than before the change.

However, I will apparently have six more yellow-colored rows in the Spaceship Command tab, which some obsessive-compulsive players consider a boon in itself.

Hooray.

People keep saying this: "I'm not gaining anything"

Of course you are gaining something by doing this training before time.

If you didn't, every racial BC skill you want at 5 will cost you 20+ days to train compared to if you did it now. I don't regard that as "nothing"

Evading a penalty is not the same as gaining a reward.

except a penalty is applied to you with or without your consent. I never said it was a "reward" either, it's just not "nothing" as most people seem to see it as.

In fact it's borderline reward: CCP gave us several months notice for this change. What stops them from just changing stuff and listing it in the patch notes? Sure people would be pissed but they're well within their rights to do that

You will gain the ability to fly Command Ships without needing cruiser 5. That seems like a bonus to me.

And what most doesn't mention, you need a 6 mil SP buffer on your clone before the skill replacement/add-on or you'll miss the boat to which is stated in one of the blogs to. Though having all the BS skill slightly trained, you would only receive the lvl3 version to meet the requirements, which gives you have several day's to train them.

No you won't. What's stated on the dev blog is:

Quote:
However, we will not adjust clone level if the refund causes your total skill points to go above your current clone capacity. If you have Destroyer and Battlecruiser 5 trained, you should account for approximately 6.2 additional million skill points, thus we highly suggest you think about upgrading your clone accordingly, especially if you plan on going into hostile or remote space.

i.e. If you, as a result of the skill split, gain an extra 6 million skill points and don't upgrade your clone, don't go crying to the devs if you get podded and lose skill points.

What do the battleship skills have to do with anything here? Level in the racial battleship skills has no effect on what levels of racial battlecruiser you get.

IF YOU CAN FLY IT NOW, YOU CAN FLY IT LATER.

Seriously, I don't know how many times this needs to be said.

I'll use the SP reimbursement to max out other skills that have nothing to do with spaceship command, primarily because i'm not far from passing the 100 million skill point mark in the space ship command tree anyhow, so there's not much left to train that isn't already at lvl 5 in that category.

Ugh
