So..... All the bears have to do is close recruitment from now until event's end (dates adjustable by how risk averse they are) and they're comparatively safe?

Also: since the whitelist won't do ****, why would the bears pay to be on it? It doesn't actually afford them any protection against AWOXers and I reckon some AWOXers would psecifically target whitelisted corps anyway for the tears - screw the prizes.

As it is, if I were to believe the **** that goes on in C&P, I would never recruit anyone because they're all out to scam me. But then again, apparently anything AWOX'd less than 1b isn't worth it.

In the main event, this would have a good chance at winning the Police Brutality award.

I do reserve the right to disallow prizes to things that totally violate the spirit of the event.

Which is basically to drive an increase in chaos and ship/pod destruction in highsec, to teach more players about the finer elements of Crimewatch, and most of all to teach players the need for operational security.

So basically, it's a scam. You can claim any action was fixed, outside the "spirit" of the event, and keep the prizes/donations. Good way to scam people. Congrats. Big smile

I do not expect to make my characters stronger through hosting AWOXalypse, but if that happens, great.

The event is intended as a way for me to generate entertainment for myself and anyone else that likes watching ships go boom. Which incidentally is why I play EVE.

Why is it OP only does stuff that generally has no chance of turning bad on him? Why are the carebears turning on their own like OP?

Hell, I'm offering a medal and potentially a prize for people that join my current corp and blow me up. That can turn bad for me.

I'm just not stupid enough to fly things I'd be gutted to lose.

This has got to be the lamest thing I've heard in a long time. Any decent corp knows better than to let anyone in without a full API or background check or run ops without escort. Even so, some still slip through. By all means, join my corp. We have a special place for you AWOXer p****e's here. If you had half the balls you think you have you'd be fighting real targets in null not going for easy kills on miners in Hi-sec. But I guess since you're only doing Hi-sec, we won't get to send you back the kill mails for your infiltrators. Way to pad your kills with people who don't fight back. Real bad-a**es. HAHAHAHAHA Grow a pair and go find some real fights people. AWOXing is old and for those afraid of a real fight. Further more, people do this all the time without needing an event to win medals or prizes. Real AWOXing pays it's own prizes. To take it a step further, way to go posting your plans on a public forum. Now everyone with a clue knows what's going on. Smooth one genius. Before everyone decides to get all hard with their keyboards and toss idle threats, stop and think. IT'S A GAME PEOPLE. Fly dangerous!

That's kind of my point. OP and the bads like him advocate the destruction of people who are pretty much new. They want to go after only people who can't/won't shoot back for whatever reason. In this case, they are opting more for people who--even if things do go wrong--can't pin someone down. A missioner won't have a point and web, and even if they do, the gankers have neutral logistics ready. In general, carebears, all of them.

Leadership is something you learn. Maybe one day, you'll learn that.

If I wanted to kill people that can't fight back, I'd join a nullsec alliance and get into blobbing, or gatecamp in Rancer.

AWOXers often lose ships. You pick a 2v1 fight, then 1 becomes 6 when the corp scrambles, and you are a gonner.

And as for blowing up newbies - none of the prizes here will be available for attacks on newbies. These prizes are for going after the shiny Tengus, shiny Golems, shiny Navythrons and Vindicators, not the newbie in their first Thorax. That 20m kill of a newbie won't win you anything.

AWOXing in highsec is one of the most newbie-friendly acts you can do, as newbies can make more ISK out of it than any other activity save scamming.

Hey sup, nice thread. I "invented" awoxing and coined the term back in 2010, and I feel like doing a history lesson.

Mass blue-on-blue violence was first popularized by GoonSwarm (AFAIK) back in the day in the form of "10 hour heroes". A 10 hour hero was creating new character then quickly training (in approx 10 hours) it to fly a thrasher/catalyst. You would then join some high-sec corp and gank their miners and industrials. Do this to a few corps, delete the character, rinse and repeat.

Awoxing originated in null-sec as a way to tackle and kill botting ratters. The South (Catch, Feythabolis, etc) at the time was basically a giant renter slum filled with botting ratters that were nearly impossible to catch. The original Awox, a player in Pandemic Legion at the time, used his cloaked main to give a warp-in on a blue ratting Goon Golem and ganked it with his alt. Using this as inspiration, I got a spy into the renter alliances and tried giving myself warp-ins with blue alts but found out that the bots would warp out of their belts in time and evade our gangs even when they jumped in from gates next to where the ratter was. I got frustrated and said "**** this", combined the 10 hour hero concept with the blue warp-in idea, and flat out tackled the ratter with the blue alt. I got a bunch of disposable low sp tackle alts into renter corps and went on long roams chain ganking ratters.

I also did entire Awoxing corps, which entailed creating a corp, renting the cheapest system from some renting alliance, then running around ganking my alliance mates. I'm pretty sure I was also the first one to awox a supercap Cool. After like two years of not awoxing anything, a corpmate and I have started up again and put our efforts towards high-sec awoxing. We have awoxed approx 40 freighters and orcas over the past six weeks.

edit: I just wrote three serious paragraphs about awoxing, brb going to kill myself (ingame)

Good to hear that State War Academy does a full background check on new recruits now (and you have the balls to post with your main).

And some of stuff somebody (I presume you) wrote on the goonwiki about 10 hour heroes lives on to this day in safaris.

You've done a great job pathfinding and you absolutely are a hero. ♥

I still intend to sponsor a prize but am having a hard time deciding which one. Perhaps I will just make an investment, or perhaps we can all think of a new, special award that is fitting?

Maybe... toon who kills the most expensive ship who was piloted by a capsuleer who also could not read my rules properly and lost a fortune?

So maybe we do such a prize and to claim you must link a km along with a note so I can check my wallet? I am willing to pay referral bonuses on those who lose my game in addition to the top prize.

It would be quite hilarious for someone to lose a ship to an awox and then in the same day lose the rest of his assets due to a failure in comprehending simple rules of my game. A ceo might be worthy of an added bonus.

This past weekend, an unfortunate person lost a providence along with his collateral in Burn Jita because he did not keep up on Eve news. He then proceeded to gamble the rest of his fortune and sadly lost. I would name the prize in his honor, but that would be distasteful. In any event, I bet we can come up with a good prize name!

Now, stop reading this forum. Go get some glorious kills!

See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did.
