'Augmented' and 'Integrated' drones?

My question is, are they worth it? I like the dual damage, even if the Minmatar EM/Exp confuses me. I'm grinding standing in a Gila, and while I can use up to t2 mediums for all races, I'm curious as to whether or not they (Integrated, Augmented) offer increased performance, or if I should just stick to Hammerhead's and Vespa's.

I prefer sentries in my Gila.

The split damage types are actually a disadvantage in most cases. NPCs are only going to be weak(est) to one type, so being able to hand that to them in a raw form is ideal. Damage modifiers screw with that math a bit, but it still holds generally true.

I'd shy away from the advanced drones for other reasons as well: you will lose a drone every once in awhile. Having a stack of T2 replacements is far cheaper than scrounging up a new augmented hammerhead (even assuming there are any available when you need them).

I suppose that is true, never really thought about it. As far as sentries go, I've been meaning to train for them, but I normally don't fly a drone boat, so the skills, while ultimately benefitting me, would take more time to train than it will for me to move into fours again, which I run with a Nightmare. Sentries are on my to do list, but not that important.
