User Experience

Average FPS during the fight at the gate in X-BV98, zoomed out (brackets / no brackets):
Average FPS - Zoomed in (brackets / no brackets):
Memory usage of the client (if checked): not checked but probably extreme
Was client performance better or worse compared to your TQ experience with the same settings and fleet size? (1=way worse, 5=same, 10=OMG this is awesome) [b]Not able to compare since this was my first fight in this scale

Did you experience any disconnects or crashes? Nothing at all, everything was running smooth
Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.:
[b]Reading other replies, I notice several ones running hardware (including myself) you normally would think was limited to solitaire and farmville. Due to my own stupidity pushing oc to high, I managed to burn out the cpu on my stationary computer, forcing me to play on my old laptop. But backward compability is amazing and makes this incredible game playable to about everyone except those limited by storage and weak connections.
Players that doesn't have high performance hardware is something that will never change, so continue to keep this game reachable to as many as possible.

all the other stuff is beyond me and my limited computer knowledge. I bought the computer last year.
I participated in the mass test with 1 account (we were asked to close any alt accounts to allow room for more users) I started with my settings at max performance in anticipation of the large amount of ships on grid. This worked fine until the gate camp fighting started. From there I needed to zoom out as much as possible and turn off all effects. I had little lag with my camera zoomed out, but I did when I tried to zoom in for a closer look. This went about the same (5) as a fight on TQ would have went.

I tried at least a dozen times to log on and take part in today's test. At one point the number of logged on users went from 635 to 641, but I was never able to get on. If that's a bug, please fix it. If not, please state before the test that you will be limiting connections so people don't rearrange their schedules for nothing. Also, the interaction of the launcher and the game client is really bad when the above error happens. Pressing "Connect" again results in this message:

"The client is already connecting to the server (whether or not the login progress bar is showing). Please wait."

But the truth of the matter is you will never connect from that screen. You must completely shut down the game client and re-start the launcher before you'll ever successfully connect. What is this 'progress bar' you speak of here? Eh, it's a mess.

Oh well, thought I'd add at least a little feedback since the main test is off limits for me today.

- They did say they'd be limiting connections for the test. It was in the original thread.
- When you get that "client is already connecting" message, that means you're in the queue. If you restart the game client, you'll lose your place in the queue. If you wait at that point, you'll eventually get to the front of the queue and be able to log in.

i haven't participated in some time i would consider revisiting singularity again. i noticed EA gives an information extractor application that helps GMs in forum support. would be nice to use something like that here. though i'm out of date it might be already in motion.

User Experience

Average FPS during the fight at the gate in X-BV98, zoomed out (brackets / no brackets): 10-20
Average FPS - Zoomed in (brackets / no brackets): 20-30
Memory usage of the client (if checked): sorry, didn't check :(
Was client performance better or worse compared to your TQ experience with the same settings and fleet size? (1=way worse, 5=same, 10=OMG this is awesome) 6-7
Did you experience any disconnects or crashes? No
Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.: It slowed down a few times and ground to a halt at other points but nothing that lasted for very long. Sometimes it spent a really long time loading all the ship models onscreen, but that doesn't affect the gameplay so I'm not too bothered.
