Wait a minute here. CCP how are you going to rotate the planets when there are fixed district beacons? Are those beacons going to rotoate with the planet as it rotates, so they always stay above their districts? That will have them moving at 500 m/sec to 1000 m/sec. Or... well... Just what are you planning?

Is this from the Q & A? Do the planets even rotate now? I was under the impression that they were effectively in fixed positions. Maybe they mean that it will reflect the district's location on the static planet, and whether it is in the light district or dark. It would definitely be much more interesting if the planets rotated though, especially if each could get it's own unique rotation speed. I wonder how big of a coding hurdle that would be. I imagine pretty significant.

I'd personally love it if ships synced with a planet's rotation while in orbit, thus getting to experience a sort of sunrise and set. Even better if we get a graphical cloud layer depending on the gas content of the planet, that simulated different colors at the horizon and within the cloud layer depending on the gas! Okay, too many dreams. But at least a rotating planet would be nifty.

So it is confirmed that what is being planned right now is that corps and corps in the same alliances will get PI bonuses for manufacturing on the same planet as owned districts, or a POS fuel bonus (assuming to POSes connected to the planet), and also a manufacturing bonus of some kind.

I'm a stream noob.

Chances of me missing a live stream are high. Can I watch the stream after-the-fact? Or should I just wait for it to hit YouTube?

Its from the article announcing Dust: Uprising.
All planets use to rotate. When Dust districts were added to temperate planets, those stopped rotating. Others still do. No planet revolved (that is moved in an orbit).
In the quote from the article the word "cycle" is used, implying rotation.

Ugh, Flash.

It wouldn't surprise me if CCP has a long term plan to get the planets rotating again, at the very least, but they don't really have to make the planet behave in space the way it behaves on the surface. It costs them much less to give the DUSTies realistic planetary behavior than it would cost them to give us the same thing: DUSTies don't have station undock bookmarks, for one thing.

Here is some honest feedback:

1: Taking question only for the audience, gave a very random feel to it, at times it looked unprofessional and something done at highschool. I'd have a person behind camera provide questions, and a supplemental list of questions that brings in important stuff that you want to answer on. Also important to make the questions answareble by the panel. No one wants to listen to someone say that other people not there can answer it. It just makes you feel that your not serious, or are unwilling to have that particular question answerd.

2: Sound is as important as picture. It ruins alot if these scenarios happen: You got dropouts; This leaves out important parts of questions and answers. You have low gain on a microphone, or use the wrong type of microphone; Your noise floor starts to melt into speach and turning up the volume on the masters only worsens the problem. Both these issues were present during your videocast.

Thank you. The aim is to keep this casual but we can definitely improve focus.

Regarding the sound, we couldn't use any of the mics we intended to use so we had to scramble and use a directional mic, knowing we'd be audible but not much more than that. The sound will be a lot better next time.

I have been watching those streams 2 times.

I think that the idea of taking questions from the chat is cool, but not in that case.
Because there is A LOT of flood in the chat. My questions dissapears in a few seconds.
And you can't just say "shut up and type your questions after the line --------". Doesn't work.

So my proposal is to take questions before the videocast. Collect them on forum topic, and take the good ones about the different areas of the game.

in 2007 i've thought it's a sci-fi simulator, not an "e-sports" game. I'm not a teenager, how would i like it much?

With streaming content becoming much more prevalent today, we at CCP are embarking on a pilot program over the next four weeks which will allow you, the players, to ask questions directly to a panel of developers on different aspects of EVE Online and DUST 514.

Rather than spoil all of the details in this short intro, please see this blog post and let us hear your comments.
What if the CCP developers do not show up for the event? There is a precedent already set for this, you know. RollLolRollLol

Quoting for emphasis.

The worst thing that CCP employees could do up on stage is try and be cute by saying "soon" or some other coy response. EVE is severely broken right now, between the great tech moon imbalance and the massive bluing up of null-sec. DUST literally has zero impact on most EVE folks and those who have invested years of their gaming time into EVE are either 'retiring' or not continuing their investments into the EVE gaming experience.

Casual talk is meaningless and not worth the time to watch, tbh. Don't waste your people's time. Don't waste your customers' time.
