Supercarrier pilots

Hi all,

First I wanted to say I didn't play Eve for many years, and I am still downloading the client as we speak.
I was wondering if there have been changes according to supercarriers - formerly known as motherships, since I own a Wyvern on another account myself.
The main reason I quit playing Eve was probabaly because this MS pilot was most of the time useless to me. I logged her only in for switching skills until I found out I had every MS related skill maxed out. Also an important reason for this is that all my friends in Eve Online have quit playing too so our corp is no more...

Motherships pilots were quite useless in the past - they were logged in like 1% of the login time compaired with your main char.

So my question is:
- Can supercarriers dock now or cloak or some other safe way you can use your toon for something else than waiting for a battle / skillswitch? (I know you could do this in a POS - but thats not an option anymore since my corp has quit and I want to start of soloing first weeks / month)
- Since I'm thinking of reactivating her account too, would it be better to just sell the Wyvern and do other things?

Sorry for my bad English and not well explained story - but I think most of you get the picture.

So the only way to do other - e.g. logistics stuff - than being a Supercarrier pilot is joining a major corp, or selling it?

- no
- sell the wyvern, cross-train into aeon or nyx.

super-carriers are very useful compared to the motherships of old, they are the primary anti-capital and anti-structure platform in EVE and the backbone of any 0.0 alliance's military capabilities.

Thanks for the info, good idea to train into nyx and join a good corp later.
Now I know what skills to train for Shocked

eve is an mmo after all. You want to have a capital class ship, then you will have to pay the maintenance.

either join a low or null corp. (low sec corps have more than enough supers now)

Put up a pos and leave it there (form a corp).

or

just dont log in that super. Its not as if u will be using that anyway. create another char in that acc.

Better idea would be to buy a wyvern sitting char from market and change super to that char and then use te current one for pew.

dont use it to fight, it should have only basic skills to hold the super.

Don't go to all the hassle of training Gallente Battleship V because in the next expansion they are dropping it down to level 3. They've upped the training time with other skills such as Jump Drive Cal / Fuel Consumption which you already have.

Racial Carrier requirements on the Aeon, Wyvern, Nyx and Hel have been reduced from 3 to 1
Capital Ships requirement on all Carriers and Supercarriers increased from 3 to 4
All racial Battleship requirements on Carriers and Supercarriers reduced from 5 to 3
Adding the Jump Fuel Conservation skill at 4 as prerequisite
Adding the Jump Drive Calibration skill at 3 as prerequisite (which itself requires the Jump Drive Operation skill trained at 5)
