I see none of you have actually read the OP properly. The cargo hold had 1 billion isk, the ship was the most expensive item. They used 16 BCs and a huge number of dessies to pop me. IF CONCORD had killed every one, then fair enough, but it didn't it allowed them to pop other ships as well making it cost effective. Otherwise it would have cost more in ships to kill me than what was in the cargo hold, and they wouldn't have bothered.

Dear fellow capsuleer,
As one of the people killing your beloved Jumpfreighter I can asure you each an everyone of the ships attacking it has been succesfully destroyed by CONCORD. Therefore I cant understand your complaints about CONCORD being ineffective.

Asith wrote:
The reason I mention the player cap of Jita, it because it caused a larger number of valuable ships to build up at the gate making it a very big target.

As soon as sane people notice they are stuck in a vulnerable place with valuable items they would immediately consider changing their location. But if you are away from your computer you surely cant make such decisions and should be ready to deal with the consequenses.

Asith wrote:
And to every one who says should of been auto piloting, you try doing 30 jumps in a freighter and trying to have a life at the same time. It not like I was auto piloting through low sec.

Oh I ve done that before and its useful to have a good book handy or a newsarticle that would tell you why to not autopilot your Jumpfreighter through highsec at this weekend.

And there is another one of your misconceptions: High Security Space doesnt equal perfect safety. Highsec is more secure then Lowsec which is more secure than Nullsec. The only time you are safe from losing your ship in EvE is when you are in a station.

Until you've learned your lesson we are happy to further harvest your tears.
Best regards

500k subscriptions is not a succes also the number that ccp gives is not a active subscription number but also all the people that tried eve and stopped playing.

After I talked to one of the people that killed me I discovered that my ship had been stuck on the gate because Jita has reached it population cap (implemented by you because your server lacks the capacity to deal with the demand) and that Goonies, TEST and the rest had taken advantage of the situation to start popping stuck ships.

We didn't take advantage of the situation, we created the situation.
Highsec can be a dangerous place sometimes, you should pay more attention to what's happening around you.

Seriously autopiloting w/ 8bn isk! Pants on head ********!

Plus 8bn is a nice payment for the fun that was had by the 100-200 people that enjoyed popping your ship!

Thanks! Welcome to EVE...you sound so disconnected from the game in your mail...its a wonder your not having fun...you should be on our comms when we pop pubbies! (wait i'm a pubbie)

1) 500k is a success
2) it's 500k active subscribers

You were AFK autopiloting a ship loaded with cargo INTO Burn Jita. Shocked WTF did you think was going to happen? This is a joke post right?

to be fair we'd probably ganked his JF even if it was empty (provided there were no juicy targets around), because it's still 6b ISK he'd lose

The numbers are active subscriptions world wide. Steady 500k subs is a definite success. Subscription based MMOs that have more can be counted on the fingers of a single hand and most AAA MMOs active today have much less then that. Historically speaking many games initially spike at larger numbers, but within a few months have barely a few hundred thousand subs and sinking. EVE is tiny mainly compared to WoW, but WoW is an anomaly and every sub based MMO is tiny compared to it.

No, the numbers they give are active subscriptions. If they included trials the number would be massive, and indeed misleading, but that's not what they are doing.

Stop making stuff up to support your incomprehensible argument.

I'm new to the game and somewhere, somehow in the learning process I've learned that autopiloting anywhere is a risk. Add in expensive cargo and it's even more of risk.

I've also learned that certain systems along main routes to trade hubs quite regularly have people in them that like to shoot industrials that have lots of isk in them. The Jita area is one of them even when "Burn Jita' isn't happening.

I completely agree that multiple jumps in an industrial is boring, a pain and ripe for the temptations of autopilot. I have used auto-pilot quite a bit during long high-sec hauls knowing the risk. However I never ever jump through or into systems (like Jita) that are known to be one where people regularly search for easy industrial targets. With afk ones being ripe for the picking. Jita on the weekends has been backed up at times since I've been playing. (2 months)

If you have to auto-pilot set your destination to a station outside of these systems. (Find or figure out what these systems are of course). Then you can go do whatever and come back at your leisure and manually jump through the riskier areas. Easy peasy and way less risky.

Here ends the advice from a still relatively clueless newb but one that can't afford to lose that much stuff when trying to build up her nest egg.
