I want to apologize for the lack of updates of any kind or even an acknowledgement in this regard. We have been quite aware of this issue for a while through the forum threads and petitions on the matter, but unfortunately we were not able to pinpoint the exact cause until today and as such did not really have any news to share with you, or any workarounds to offer for this. However, as of this point, this specific issue of being unable to select a character and getting into the game should already be corrected and you should be able to log in normally once again. We are of course taking measures to prevent this from happening again in the future.

If you have been completely unable to log in due to this issue in the past week or so, then please feel free to file a petition within the "Billing and Account" or the "Technical"->"Mac" category, so we can find ways to make up for the unused game time on your account. If you already have an open petition on this matter, please just leave it open and we will get to it as soon as humanly possible.

Even though I do not have this problem and I really appreciate your response to this thread................EDITED OUT TO SAVE CCP SERVER SPACE THAT THEY NEED FOR THE NEW BACKUP TOOL

As it appears some people still have this issue are they to just assume you are working on it even though you say it has been fixed? How are they to know now if CCP is only communicating with the Mac player base after the fact now?

Also while It is great you did give us some information, it raises one huge questions. Why is a DEV not responding? Since we as a community (Mac users) have had to debug and find our own work arounds so much on our own as it is, the lack of any info from a DEV on what the problem was is just another insult to a community used to insults and abandonment.

sorry CCP, but I have to agree with Manssell, this feels very bad Sad

Even though I do not have this problem and I really appreciate your response to this thread, I have to admit this is a perhaps one of the biggest communications insults to your Mac player base in a long time.

You say that CCP was aware of the issue and working on it, but until you had it fixed you had no news to share. Well, isn't "we are aware of the problem and working on it" news to share? You have customers who can not even play the game and are trying desperately to figure out the problem, and even more desperately trying to find out if CCP is even listening and CCP's attitude is to make them keep guessing until you think you have the whole thing solved? Really?

If you knew that this was a problem on your side (and since we got no info on what happened but you are refunding game time and there was no client patch for the "fix" then we have to assume it was server side) then is it really fair to let you customers waste their own time trying to fix a problem with your game that didn't even exist on their side of the connection?

As it appears some people still have this issue are they to just assume you are working on it even though you say it has been fixed? How are they to know now if CCP is only communicating with the Mac player base after the fact now?

I got to agree with you Manssell.

Instead of waiting about 5 days for a response, a CCP dev or GM could have notified us and given the news that the issue has been found and is being fixed.

I was unable to get onto EVE in those days and without any news, I then believed CCP is doing nothing at all. CCP really needs to make sure they update people receiving issues so they know the people know what is going on. I really hope GM's and CCP next time give news to people receiving issues because this was an insult not just to me, but the entire Mac community of EVE.
