Thus keeping all that AFK autopiloting freighter traffic stuck on the Perimeter gate while they wait for traffic control. They'll be safe there.


Any AoE mecanic usable in high-sec to unclog that perimeter pipe if it gets filled? That would be worth a vid.

anyone know how much ISK is lost from this? like when there's heavy snow such and such billion dollars were lost, etc.

Yes - Could someone please help me understand this "event"? What are the goals of the ones shooting? Are they getting CONCORDed after shooting? Is there an over-arching plan other than killing freighters?

I think something like this is a good thing in that it takes some ISK/Assets out of the game thereby helping the overall JITA economy, but I do not understand why a corp/alliance would do this.

Well, not trying to offend anyone but here is how I understand the burn jita thing so far based on what people write. Make of it what you will. I am new and been reading up. It seems that the goon leader (some Mittani fellow) got drunk, made a real ass of himself, and encouraged a bunch of people to grief some ganked miner into committing real life suicide while on stage at CCP’s fan fest a year ago. As a result, he got kicked off the CSM and banned from playing for a while under their moral code thing like when they kicked that Neo Nazi fellow recently.

Anyway, as a result he got mad and decided to attack hi sec and grief folks for some reason as a celebration event thingie in revenge with his alliance. The goon troops rallied and started ganking in Jita on the day the guy’s ban ended. I guess he or they want to carry it on from year to year now. Ego or boredom or both I don’t know.

Also of note, it was at the Dev / player dinner that CCP’s head honcho had to kick the leader of TEST out for trying to rough up that Mittani fellow. Might have been the start of some resentment on a personal level that boiled over in their near Alliance brawl recently.

Cracked made the Mittani fellow one of their number one dicks in gaming history in an article HERE as a result of it all. Other sites have reported the incidents in similar unflattering terms as well. It is what it is.

The original burn jita was actually planned and prepared for well in advance of the whole fanfest fiasco with Mittani, but that doesn't make the revisionist history from pubbies any less hilarious. Lol

Burn Jita was planned about 2 months in advance of that actually happening. It was sold in the pre-election as a reward for hitting 10,000 votes.

IDK... I already wrote that. You're some CSM person with that group right? If what people have been writing across the forums about Burn Jita and the reasons for it isn't true then set the record straight. I am curious too. I am not sure who is mad over what. I am not part of any of it it, no alt, don't know who goons are outside of red thingies on the jita live cam and think it's all kind of funny or typical of EVE's legendary meta. I mean are you just trying to top the biggest **** move now that you were awarded one or is there a point in all of it?

No actual isk are harmed in the event. In fact baby isks are created from the wreckage of toasted space minerals.

EDIT: But these days, I think only the victims get their ships converted into isk.
