I think this is a splendid idea! Also, I would like to suggest that warp drives are disabled for 30 seconds after jumping, and removal of the option to warp to within 0km to gates.

Also, gates should emit a 15km radius field that disables all cloaking and propulsion modules.

Removing the warp to zero is a really bad idea. That was how it was done before, but then players figured out how t make insta jump book marks. And players would have them for many systems they frequented. Soon players had thousands of book marks (you'd need a new insta in some cases for different entry points in a system). And that caused issues in game. So the warp to zero option so that the bookmarks became irrelevant and players could delete them.

Well that is what I was reading somewhere or other a few days ago.

I think Vassdrag proposal was just sarcasm...

With some of the tards on these forums....I detected it, you detected it...but them. Those people I could see thinking that is a brilliant idea and ****ting up the forums with such a proposal.

We should add anti-social gates to some systems.

They won't let you warp onto grid with them at all. You have to get just off grid, and slow boat to them, like they have a huge interdiction field around them.

Call it a tar pit effect.

Getting past this in either direction would be slow and tedious, and definitely risky.

Ya know, this started as a joke, but that might actually be interesting under the right circumstances, oddly enough....

I like it if this effect applies only to Rune Scorpio. Roll

I totally agree. Hunting haulers with no guns to defend them selves its not PVP its just being a Pussy.

I totally disagree with this sentiment... That hauler might be full of strippers that need liberating!!! I there is nothing dickish about saving those strippers from the likes of your groping hands!!!!!

In a more serious tone, haulers resupply your enemies, carrying weapons and ships to them and returning with valuable cargo they use to acquire more. Shooting them down is absolutely essential to PvP, and has nothing to do with being a "****".

In real world logic, this makes sense and is valid. Full points for solid argument on that level.

In game play terms, by successful PvP against a key target, many other players may not have the resources to PvP on a meaningful level appropriate to the situation.

Entire wars could become quiet due to leverage against key logistic points.

Now, while this is realistic and fair, enforcing a need to protect supply lines over all, it has the potential to be boring in a bad way too.

We need psychos on both sides well armed for our entertainment, after all.

All I see anymore is every damn ship running around doing the mwd cloak exploit to wander around lowsec with no chance of being caught. Makes this game insanely boring when I try and catch people at gates and they just warp off with no chance of me locking them. Logged in for the first time today in a while and saw a occator coming my way unscouted. Grabbed a sebo phobos and went and waited for him. No chance to lock at all, just warped off. Been dealing with ishtars and haulers over the last few months that did this and made hunting them tedious and pointless.

How about a nice simple fix. If there are modules active, cloaks don't activate. Or activating modules disable cloaks. Either or it solves the exploit. This is likely not so bad in null since you can deploy a bubble, but in lowsec theres no way of catching them without a large camp. Even then its luck. If they appear outside of 8k from someone they aren't getting caught since all you can use on a gate in low is cruisers and up.

If you are foolish enough to wander around unscouted, or get caught in a trap by a patient pvper they should have to rely on standard escape strategies not use a 2 module combination that makes ships behave like covert ops ships.

When the talk from CCP says they want to create more opportunities for pvp, MWD cloak tricks still existing blatantly contradicts that stance.

really?

interceptors interdictors will run for you fast if they plan it well a cloaky even a covert-ops ship will get decloaked and catch you still
otherwise get a mining barge or exhumer with sebo these carebear ships are lately the ultimate catchbear ship to be on a gate
all tanked up and ready to lock quickly

frustrating as im a HIC pilot and i get out targeted by a damn mining barge

cloaks are good as they are and its not an exploit its a technique in outsmarting your enemies
cleverness dictates the game use it

So the truth behind this thread comes out, you want easy wins.
Try a Roam, no need to worry about the cloak + MWD trick there.
Just for added fun, a while back I was screwing around with a Black Ops ship and used the cloak + MWD trick and found my sin traveling around 1km/s for a bit.

And you are talking about a cov ops ship fyi. They are actually designed to work like that.
I want to be able to shoot people that wander around lowsec. Having a cloak means they can wander around with impunity. I do roam. Roaming also gets old fast. since people just run past with the same bs trick now and again. Why should there be a game mechanic that allows any ship to avoid pvp?

Blops do not get the covert ops cloak.

It is still a cov ops ship. please read through the threads before posing as I have already stated it gets a speed bonus and with the right standard cloak moves faster than it would normally. Guess cloaking reduces its wind resistance or something...

Do any of you even bother to read or is the derp this strong here?

LOWSEC

Dictors are useless as you cant deploy a bubble. Interceptors die instantly to gateguns.
The exploit isn't the cloak. Its using a prop module while cloaked and it should be disabled when the cloak activates. Along with reppers and hardeners tbh. If my guns instantly stop reloading why does the microwarpdrive which blows the signature radius of a ship to hell still work and the ship maintain its cloak.
