Sci-Fi Series based in the EVE Universe

Right now there is a void in Sci-Fi. There are almost no good Sci-Fi series anymore. Wouldn't it be easy enough for CCP to produce a Sci-Fi series set in the EVE universe? I think it would be a really good way to see the world in more detail and get a bunch of new people playing EVE. It will be like "Wait...what's this series based on? Oh EVE Online".

Great Idea,

The only thing that would make them agree is if Everything WE do in the Eve Universe in DUST and EVE affect the lore. As has tried to be done even though they script quite abit.

You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life.

CCP Soundwave mentioned in a livestream that an idea of his would be to have players run the four major factions, if they implement something like that, and have it so the players have some semblance of RP, than a sci-fi series would be epic!

The only downside would be hearing all the null-sec alliances being named, 'oh no the xXDeaThXx2000 have arrived and the Goons are invading quick everyone dock at COXUKKER Outpost!

This is true and this is why players should NEVER EVER IN THE HISTORY OF EVE CONTROL THE MAJOR FACTIONS! Lest the game loses all credibility of seriousness.

Maybe go back a little earlier. Fill in the history of all the 4 empires at a time when they were at war or something. Basically make it take place before capsuleers in the storyline but the series would still fill in a lot of the history of the EVE universe and bring more players to the game for sure. The idea is like "you saw the series, now step in to help shape the universe".

They could make the end of the series the first pilot getting into a capsule with the neural interface for the first time.

That's a pretty good idea... you have an entire universe to fuel your stories with...

I would probably start with something on a smaller scale though to peak interest in the EVE universe...

maybe a webisode series, something that you could entice a great many audience members with using the graphics and screenshots of battles... make it like an online graphic shortstory series...

Further still, use the Vine app and create little 6 sec. movies that could be played together as a series...

It would reach a greater audience in absolutely no amount of time and increased interest would fuel further, bigger projects later down the line...

That's my two isk on the subject...

I can see the series working by having Sansha Kuvakei in it. A few episodes with him should be great. He is John Harrison of EVE Online after all.

I personally wouldnt even mind something with the wing commander/ BSG type Vibe. (Figter Pilots for each Empire type stuff. Arcing Stories etc)

There are so many possible and potential new storylines they can make in a TV series that could in turn driect live events in game.

I mean think about it in the TV show all month they have been fighting minor skirmishes in XYZ system and on the 4th day a massive battle breaks out and esculates. Cue epic FIght scenes, hairy escapes, deaths, And in game it actually happens In a Dev run event where players show up and fight said battle.

Alternately, go back into the Dark Ages of New Eden. A little after the closure of the Eve gate. Feature some of the ancient races. With a collection of races who ultimately fail or transcend the mortal coil entirely, there's plenty of room for tragedy, space flight, war & space opera. Ultimately a completely open plot / meta canvas which would have limited to no current day impact on New Eden / or at least overwhelming expectations. Run Eve's current plot as you want, classify the series as probable / based on current archaeological theory. If it turns into another 'kindred the embarrassed' -.^ you can write it all off as being the product of a booster addled archaeologist's ramblings at a bar.

Heck, CCP, get White Wolf to write-up a table-top setting for it. 'Would love to buy a PDF or hardcover.

Perhaps an EVE series based prior to the events in the game?

I mean hell, there is THOUSANDS of years worth of lore prior to the game itself..
