Not much to go on here yet. We have a screenshot from the PAX East presentation:

SCREENSHOT 1

Left: Maybe a new direction scanner in action?
Top Middle: Something labelled as a 'Hacking Side Structure - large', perhaps implying a hacking revamp?
Bottom Middle: Some kind of scan overlay showing potential exploration complexes?
Right: Perhaps a hacking/analysing/salvaging mini game?

All complete speculation, but fun none-the-less! If I had to guess, I would say that we are going to get some new mini games for hacking and analysing along with a new scanning mechanic to find the sites.


the middle bottom screen to me looks like a more pimped out scanner probe view overlayed on the normal 'in space' ship view, giving you more of a feel on where potential scanned results are in space (have to say translating the locations of probed result hits is challenging when u want to align to their direction)
Not sure what the hex stuff is about, maybe a new form of hacking interface that more of a minigame than 'lock can - activate codebreaker etc...)


the other screenshot to me seems to hint at a form of ring mining whereby normal miners will be able pull in some r64 moon materials. and the tags being either a "pirate tags for sec status".... though i hope it'll be expanded to "tags for faction standings" with an upper limit cap (say at 3.50)

As a side, if they are going to nerf resistances they need to buff total HP of those ships, otherwise they will kill buffer tanks. At the moment this makes sense because active tanks have begun to feel slightly overpowered, but if they change the resists without changing the HPs, they will kill buffer tanking completely.

Shocked that CCP are putting in the effort to V3 drones, does this mean everything in space except possibly containers is now V3?

This is beginning to look like an expansion that is very heavily skewed towards exploring, add that to the free scanning frigates we received a short while ago and it's beginning to look like it's time to get all those scanning skills to V on top of the BC and DD skills.

In the Unifex/Seagull interview, seagull mentioned the discovery scanner will tell you what is in the system but not give you a warpin. I'm guessing it sort of replaces astrometrics V for those who use the deep space scanner probe.

In the Twitch chat, soundwave mentioned the new space as a space where you would ahve to build stargates yourself and defend them. Funny thing is, he railed earlier that once set up in a good WH system you were hard to displace.

(Jove? Jove Space?)


I don't know if you are aware, but the respawns of "Plexes" in WH systems is slow. It's not uncommon to deplete a plex and force the WH corp to move.

I think the Moon minerals will move around.

So after I called Shaun from Sandbox Strategies and confirmed that email wasn't spam or a joke. We coordinated for this past Friday that I was going have a chance to speak with with Ryan Geddes, a member of CCP based in Atlanta, Georgia. We were accompanied by Rob, a member of Sandbox Strat from the New York office, which is not that far away from my job.

Odyssey, the next expansion due out for EVE players is going to expand the universe into Jove space. There are going to be new ships, new ways to scan and with the new Uprising uild for DUST 514 to be released May 6th, Spaceships flyers and Gunloggi drivers have a lot to be excited about. Until then...

Look at the ablation on the forward edge of the hull -- lots of damage, as if it was moving forward into a cloud of dust, debris, micrometeorites. I wonder if it's a new exploration area, a zone of failed colonies? Or perhaps more Sleeper relics? Or possibly a new ORE ship of some sort -- but it looks too beat-up for that...

With the exception of the caldari-esque nose, it doesn't really look like any kind of design currently in use... Could just be some kind of exploration object...

I have a question, if someone knows the answer. These new Private Starbase Hangars, is the 40k storage shared? Or is it that each and every user has 40k space?

Am now very excited about this expansion! Lol

Probably it is, considering that this thing is at least 15000 years old (built before EVE Gate collapse). We will know soon.

Ehhh, the pic looks like a Harbinger was shoved up a Dragoon's bumhole and a raven nose was slapped on front. Still looks good though, perhaps it is a cobbled together ship designed for deep space work Smile
