I think it's also important to note that new players are not children, in fact they are typically grown-ass men and that this is a computer game, not real life, nothing bad happens if you lose a spaceship.

They don't need protecting from anything. It's the game that needs protecting from people like the terrible OP who'd diminish its richness in the name of "protecting new players."

That is a terrible work around to a problem created only by your unnecessary changes.

lmfao at the flat out lies that it is used against "newbies"

How come whenever someone has a problem with a mechanic they lie and pretend it affects primarily or only newbies when it is very, very clear it doesn't?

No one joins a corp to awox a 2 week old character in a cruiser, they awox older players in very expensive ships that take a lot of time and isk to invest in.

So don't bloody pretend this is about protecting newbies, it's about protecting old players who are lazy, stupid and all round bad at eve.

anyone else wants the km ask... [unless there is a way to link it here, but its not my kill or loss so i really cba...]

I never said newbies are never victims of awoxing, but it is dishonest to suggest they are the primary or only targets of it, and to use that entirely untrue premise to justify massive gameplay changes that are not required at all, and serve no purpose other than to further nudge EVE towards being yet another toothless, coddling boring mmo

It's also disingenuous to suggest that by fixing this, you will protect 'newbies', when in fact this would only be a small measure in that direction, as they would still be capable of being hurt or taken from a thousands and thousands of other ways, all legitimate mechanics.

Joining a hisec corp ruins even more new player experiences than getting shot, I would like CCP to do something about that instead.

If someone undocks a mining ship in my alt's pvp corp, I feel its approriate to kill it without concord interfeering or giving the other part an option to decline. It shouldnt be neccesary to kick the person out of corp, thats to harsh..

i do fully agree. there does need to be more things in place. maby something that will be better accepted: a link to corp kills and such available when atleast being offered a place... it is true they exist out of eve... but afaik... they are not directly accessible with eve's current mechanics... that and from the perspective of new players... eve is the only mmo i know that allows the games version of a "clan/guild" to be able to ruin the experience... like i keep saying.... the meta game itself is part of what makes eve great... and i can see where some people are coming from... but i also see where some others are comiung from - that it will ruin their ability to use such mechanics to grief and harass players that really need to be looked after... just a little bit better.

and to all you lovely people that have decced.... go frack yourselves... nuf said :) - im not gunna back down from the stance that SOMETHING needs doing on this matter... if not the proposed change, then open to sugestions... [was considering ccp's input on related matters re rules and such.... but i have seen ALOT of similar sugestions go with little or no support....]

and btw - frack isnt a swear word, so dont even try going down that crying route....

It's not harassment or griefing. Often there's profit involved - because when you spend say, 200 mil ISK on a battleship and awox a 5 bil bear toy, say 2,5 bil drops - you're 2,3 bil richer. It's profit - it's business.

I read it and wow this corp has that lovely crook smell to it. That's a very honest mining barge pilot in a corp that has a few nice cases of awoxing and what seems like hisec wardeccing/missionflipping.

His own fault for not paying attention to what his "friends" were up to.

Nah, if you want to recruit others into your corp it's up to you to vet them (or delegate the vetting) and deal with the consequences of poor vetting.

Protip (tip from a pro, you see): the guy who's really enthusiastic about joining your corp and has a KB history full of suicide ganks and in-corp kills is probably not looking to mine with you!

I have always been annoyed that my alts had to be in the same corps to blow each other up in hi-sec with Concord crashing my fun.

Can we applies this fix to shoot them in any corp to all corps please?

So you can't even be bothered to look at the character's corp history and contact their previous CEO(s) before accepting their application. Why bother? CCP should hold your hand?

It's up to you to protect the noobs in your corp, including and not limited to, from other noobs in your corp.

So you agree there is no problem with a veteran player accepting someone he has pissed off into his corp and getting his 5 bil mission ship blown up, right?

New players don't need to be coddled beyond the tutorial. The sooner they get used to their things blowing up the less of a chance of them trying to get space rich in a bubble for the first year. Then loosing everything to a stupid mistake. THAT's what will make a "new" player quit. Not getting blown up in a tutorial reward ship a week into the game. At worst it will make them leave your corp. And if you let them get blown up by a corp mate through your own failings, they should.

It wouldn't be if the carebears had their way.
