The PI bug

... or the most irritating f'n bug in the history of EVE online ...

Ok... who can tell me what triggers the PI bug that causes your extractor unit to "forget" what it was mining and to shut down?

I've tried everything I can think of to reproduce this bug but without success... but I still have 4 or so extractor units per week (from the 25) that when I visit them have (1) extracted nothing (2) shut down and (3) forgot what they were supposed to be extracting. This bug is costing me about 300mil per month in lost revenue.

HELP!

You hit submit before install. Probably the most annoying thing about the already annoying PI. It completely shuts the extractor down and resets everything. Even if you realize what you did it is a pain to set it all up again.

The best thing to do honestly is to do a check on your colonies at least once every 2 days if your doing extraction jobs over a few days, preferably once a day just to spend 2-3 minutes total across 1 characters planets just to make sure the hot spots are still in the sweet spot and all that jazz. I onyl do 22 hour extraction jobs so have no issues with HS moving.

For your issue it may just be what the above poster said, not a bug but a player based error. It happens to us all. Just be sure to double check any change you do and you should be fine (this goes for all of what you do in Eve, not just PI).

Ok, well I have noticed that it happens more often when I'm in a hurry so I'm willing to entertain the idea that it's user error... but still it's hard to grasp what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks for the ideas guys. I'll take a closer look at what I'm doing
