Posted on the DotA 2 forums:

"Fake and gay, those pictures of dismembered people circulating on the web were shot in front of green screen long ago and people on them are actors not victims.

Of course it just so happens like with every fake event that the same type of drill took place the same day
http://www.naturalnews.com/039926_Bo...terrorism.html

And the explosions were the first sign that this even was staged.

Hollywood explosions are designed to LOOK like they are powerful, when realworld explosions DO NOT. For example: Hollywood you will see a fireball and smoke. REAL WORLD you do not. The force of a real world explosion is PERCUSSIVE meaning the explosion moves so rapidly that fire does not have a chance to burn anything an if there was fire would be blown out by the shock wave.

Now depending on the type of explosive used there are different characteristics to look for. With a Fertilizer bomb you have TWO explosions. First is the detonator that is designed to atomize the fuel particles as the fuel, as it spreads then the second is times to ignite that cloud. THOSE TYPE OF BOMBS are very weak, but will produce a fire ball. In hollywood they will use propane to create the fire ball. But a Fert bomb is very difficult to pull off and takes a high level of skill to accomplish.

A hydrogen bomb is a sharp crack sound (a high pitch like snap like sound) ANY hydrogen oxygen ignition is SOOOOO percussive that even the smallest one has potential to take your ear drums out or cause permanent damage. With a Hydrogen Oxy bomb you get NO flame because it burns in the infrared spectrum and is invisible to you. YOU WILL SEE A SHOCK WAVE that is very fast (on the par of 40,000ft/sec A massive force to be dealt with but fortunately the blast will tend to go upward and not along the ground.

A TNT explosive is a loud thunder sound with low ground shaking vibrations. A good size destructive force with telltale signs of detonation and particular smell. Gunpowder not as good unless you detonate it in a container.

BUT my point being that is you see fire and smoke coming out of the explosion (which we do in this case) you can rest assured that it is a Hollywood FX team behind it. AND the use of green screen protects the actors from having their ears damaged. IF THIS WERE REAL YOU WOULD HAVE MANY PEOPLE with permanent hearing loss if not completely deaf.

Those who educate themselves, and practice critical thinking will always prevail in any of these BS made for TV events."

Don't give up on humanity - you are one of them, and look what you and your friend did. There is a little boy out there somewhere who won't be on his way to watch his father be buried because of you.

And whoever saves a life, it is considered as if he saved an entire world.

Greater first aid training will not solve the 'flight' issue - but the more people who have it, the more people who do stop to help will have some idea of what they're doing.

Conscription is a non-starter for a large number of very good reasons - Another thread, another day.

The National Park Service has solved the trash bin issue - D.C. has lots of 'em. As suggested above, solid bins that redirect blast upwards. All Boston need do is contact the Park Service.

Not impressed, but not surprised, by all the drawn weapons. Clearly, the police haven't been briefed properly on response to explosions - This is not the Sandbox, where an explosion may well mean 'ambush.' That's an 'upgrade' training item for the future.

Generally very impressed with the number of people who *did* turn-to and help. Lives were spared because of this.

Still not ready to cry 'Vengeance!' yet... It is still time to bind wounds, provide for the injured, and comfort the bereaved. Vengeance can await a later day, when we know who to stomp.

Although I don't normally read the Guardian I found this to be quite a good read (for me at least).

Also, please ignore conspiracy theory sites, there will be time for that once everyone's calmed down a bit.

EDIT: The two Saudis are officially witnesses and not suspects as previously thought.

eh, eh, Can I think like the best of them or what?

Wouldn't have helped in this situation however. According to MSN, the bombs were basically beefed up pipe bombs hidden inside of duffel bags back against the wall.

Confirming that is what preliminary intelligence suggests. This is a common tactic in Afghanistan by al Queda.

Muslim extremists really hate pressure cookers Sad

It's apparently a sin to have really great cooking times

Pretty much as-called. Whoever did this knew what they were doing - knew their target, knew the techniques.

The bins still aren't a bad idea. Just one small part of making it more difficult to murder people in large numbers.

Well, the mainstream news are now throwing insinuations towards right wing, patriots, anti-gov groups etc.
You know what they say is usually far from truth Smile

I'm starting to wonder if someone's building up to an ultimate goal of fomenting civil war with all the current internal tensions.
It's a psychology act.

Not quite sure what to make of my own thought process. As an Engineer my first thought was to start seeing if there might be a market for explosive proof bins, my home city has virtually none in the city center and the IRA used such tactics too.

Explosive deterrent may be a better idea unless you want to make it impossible to put garbage in it. SWAT boxes are completely enclosed containers where the item is placed inside and sealed or they are lowered on top of the item and bolted to the ground.
I though about hardened swing doors on the bin that would keep the blast inside because the pressure from the blast would press the door against the rim but I also realize that people tend to pack public trash cans to beyond full so it wouldn't really help the situation.
Personally I think designing the can so that it directs the blast straight up would be an ideal bet, and unless you are the one unlucky SOB to have his hand in the bin the damage could be minimal.

You could consider a hard plastic or other material that warps under shock, so that the bin would essentially absorb the impact and inflate to contain the explosion. This would likely require some kind of seal or other method. Or as you suggested, upwardly direct the blast. The problem with some materials is, while they are strong a sudden blast can buckle or splinter them dangerously. Which is why softer, warping materials could be better?

I'm no expert with explosives, obviously.

Additionally; Thank you to all medical professionals and first responders, heroes all.
