What's the fastest ship in Eve : My Archon

Well, I had some fun with my "middle of the sun" spot. Warped a friend in a dread there, entire fleets.

Laughs were had.

Then I got thinking, what ship would get the best bounce?

Well, I thought, let's try my triage archon.

As of speaking, it's in the fourth triage cycle and I think I'll run out of stront before I reach 0 speed. For the past 18 minutes, my ship is the fastest ship in Eve.

After 10 triage cycles I decided to call it quits, at that point my speed was still over 1000 m/s but that's when you're in danger of getting tackled.

So: I didn't run out of strontium but I did bounce for a good 50 minutes.
Next time when I'm bored I'll slap on a microwarpdrive and some plates and see if I can take it further. Maybe a dread in siege will go further. Although I'm not sure it can hold enough strontium because my triage only requires 75.

I landed 0.4 AU from the sun.

My archon is officially not the fastest ship in eve anymore.

I made a fraps of it, but it's extremely boring and dull apart from landing in the sun and maybe the 10 seconds after that.

What speed did you reach?

while (CurrentSelectedTarget.Status == ShipStatus.Alive) {

     _myShip.FireAllGuns(CurrentSelectedTarget);

}

All of it, I'd guess.

I've had to go through my fraps slide by slide and the highest number I could see was: 277 438 240, that's well over 277 million meters/second.

.925c

sounds legit.

edit: i wish there was a way to abuse this for miner bumping....

I should buy an Ishtar.

Epic.

Best to way to make a BM like that? Just fly in and save it when you hit something I suppose?

Long time ago I scanned a ship down. Warped to the result and ended in the sun. Someone left their ship there at that spot.
I Saved the bookmark for future use.

I was never able to scoop that stabber though.

I think you can make the bookmark by triangulating safespots to get close to the middle of the sun and burn the last few thousand km in an interceptor.

If there is a thing in EVE, Daniel Plain does it.

More on topic, that would require some assistance from said miner I suppose... Actually, I remember someone suggesting some sort of ship anchoring around the time of bumping threads owerflow in GD. I think that if such a module was ever to be implemented, it could be that with decent timing an effect in question could be achieved (depending on implementation ofc). That would be highly ironic Smile

I have read about similar experimet. But experimenter exceeded speed of light by quite a margin. :D

einstein is quantum-rotating in his grave. also, i did some math with OPs numbers. disregarding space jelly physics, the archon in question would carry 1113750000kg / 2 * (277000000m/s)^2 = 42728462000000000000000000J of kinetic energy. this is 90 times more than the meteor that killed the dinosaurs.

The most common means to land "inside the sun" was to jump into a collapsing cyno. I haven't tried this in about a year (and thought I heard they changed it), but this is the general technique:

A.) Player A lights a cyno:
B.) Player B waits until the cyno is about to end, and at the last possible moment jumps to the cyno as it collapses. (Note: this can be jumping via your ship's jump drive, or jumping through a Jump Portals (BO or Titan).
C.) Player B will load system at a VERY random location. Sometimes in excellent deep safes, Sometimes INSIDE the sun, and sometimes right next to a gate or other celestial.

I last performed this when setting up practice Arena locations for the last AT (it's always good to hold practices in a deep safe). Unfortunately, I learned then that the randomness of the spawn location wasn't as "random" as it used to be. They didn't completely eliminate this technique, but they gimped it somewhat, and I'm not sure how successful it is today.

So, the moment this thing crashes into something, Sjugar is almost class II entity on Kardashev's scale, single-handedly. She is officially silver age Superman of EVE.

Oh wait, it just bounces off... Hm, I wonder if it will penetrate a planet assuming EVE physics.
