War Declaration Counter Measure:

We're going to use the fact that everyone employs alt characters, if you hold an alliance with an alt character with an alt corporation your looking at a 1 Billion ISK investment, plus 2 Million a month in upkeep. Whenever your corporation gets war declared on it, from what I understand, you can join the alliance with another corporation and the alliance absorbs the war declaration. Then the corporation which had a war declaration can leave and they will leave with a 24 hour cool down until they can't be shot at anymore.

If this tactic were employed as soon as possible after receiving notice of a war declaration, the defending corporation could reduce the time they will be available to be shot at to only the short time between getting a war declaration and leaving the alliance. If the defending player controls the alliance this process can be very rapid.

The Counter-Counter Measure.

If you declare war on a corporation and they employ this tactic, you would need to have an alternate corporation waiting. Once they leave the protecting alliance declare war on them. They should have a cool down preventing them from repeating this for 24 hours.

So the question is since the CEO can employ this method to defend once every 24 hours if they were on the on the ball about executing this they could effectively dodge high security war declarations entirely. If not eliminating the threat of war declaration, greatly reducing time frame by which they can be attacked. From my limited amount of research this is no longer considered an exploit, and this is completely allowed.

Does this mean that if everyone were to adopt this tactic there would be no point to declaring war on a high security based corporation?.

When you leave the alliance you still have the weeks war. And I can extend it by paying the war bill.
