New Eden statistics?

Hey,

Is there any way to get data such as how many actual characters New Eden have, how many corporations, how many closed and how many active, alliances, how many alliances died etc.

This could be interesting facts.

There are various sites around that will give you data to some extent, but none is complete as collecting some parts of said data is very hard.

You will find various data on the following sites:

http://eveboard.com/ and http://eveboard.com/global/
http://evemaps.dotlan.net/
http://www.evewho.com/

(also including http://dustboard.com/ while currently only has limited info on DUST mercs)

Right, I knew all those, but from those only Eve Who gives somewhat information in numbers for players, corps and alliances. Not sure if they give info about players that are in NPC corps. Eve Board statistics are based on people that added their API, where we can be sure that half of universe haven't done. Then Dotlan somehow goes only through alliances, where you can see only corps that have been in some alliance etc.

I think it would not be hard CCP to pull this data from server where we can know exact details about the universe we 'live' in.

  • Population
  • Ethnicity
  • Corporations
  • Closed Corporations
  • Alliances
  • Closed Alliances


Basically all data that you can gather, it would be interesting to have something like that.

You did seem to miss the link http://eveboard.com/global/statistics which contains more than just API people (but still very limited of course compared to CCP).

[eb]Global gives you the number of pilots, corps and alliances listed from the db (yet I know I'm 8 million podpilots short from the real number)

The corp count on [eb]Global includes closed, it would be possible for me to pull data from that to get listed closed corps I have, not for alliances as I don't track that but that atm).

I'm all for CCP releasing global numbers but it rarely happens (or they could just throw me that ID list of pilots and I could def do it lol)

Nahh I haven't missed that link, it says it's tracking 4,501,151 pilots then on Eve Who it says 4,542,567 characters... etc.
