Just band together with like 5-6 other indy corps and form a pact that if you get war decced and they attack your towers you all undock and blob them to death.

Sure you may all be terrible at PvP but when there's like 20 of them and 100 of you that doesn't really matter does it?

Last I checked roaming bands of frigates and cruisers are blowing up everyone nowadays. Solution, everyone jump in a cruiser near your POS, online some ECM crap on POS, everyone shoot at the 1 idiot dumb enough to attack POS., you get a kill congratulations he will likely drop wardec once you defend and pop him once or twice.

excuse the ignorance, but what does a high sec pos offer that an npc station doesn't offer besides convenience?

i don't know why hiseccers use POS to build stuff aside from ignorance or the belief that they really, really need the time bonus at the cost of keeping a POS fueled

so there's really nothing stopping people taking down the pos, and dropping to an npc corp to completely avoid wardecs.

all they really lose is the small convenience of having a pos instead of finding a quiet station, and the oh so difficult task of making a chat channel to replace their corp chat?

If you feel this way, then consider voting for Nathan Jameson for CSM. I am in no way affiliated for him, but he appears to be the ONLY candidate speaking about making changes to the current wardec system to help indy corps fight off aggressors. Here's a quote from his CSM thread. The CSM voting ends on 4/18, so dont wait forever.


" ......The current wardec system is far from perfect, but the creators had the right idea. Allowing defenders to call on friends (or allow PVP lovers to offer their services for a fee or free) puts tools in the hands of both sides, giving more options than simply docking up for an industrialist corp. Agreed, the current iteration needs a massive retooling, but the intentions were solid. And this is what we need to always keep in mind when adjusting aggression in high sec. Not simply removing it, or trying to perfectly balance a single mechanic, but instead making sure that both sides have plenty of options. (In my opinion, the current bounty system, suspect flags, and adjusted timers have done much to promote PVP in empire space, even prompting me to pod people "cause I could." Then figure out what sec status grinding was.)

At the summit, CCP and the CSM were looking for ways to promote balanced warfare--war that actually "meant something." This is good; we could always use more big fights. Doomsayers, however, will equate this to the removal of unbalanced aggression, but that's like saying because I love apple pie, I will not rest until I see mince meat pie removed from every menu. (Even if it IS of the devil.)

In closing, I'd like to point out something that perhaps everyone has forgotten. PVP cannot be forced on the unwilling, no matter how many carrots or sticks or sticks made of carrots you use. I've had plenty of pilots and corps in my alliance that simply will not play the game that way. They are not paying for their subscription for that experience and see no reason to start. One can attempt to force PVP upon them; but the harder you push, the farther into they withdraw into their burrows. Those who love to pew, pew. Those who do not, will not. And those who are on the fence will go the way of their friends......."

I have the means to avoid all other forms of dickery just by paying attention to local. What means of self protection do industrial corps have vs alt corps who wardec only for the kill board stats... "Fellowship of the Blade" is clearly a single man corp with 3 alt accounts... all of his war history is pos bash after pos bash after pos bash.... no real pvp kills... he is going after easy pos kills owned by indy corps who cant or wont fight back.

There are many, many ways to defend yourself in EVE.

Furthermore, if you want to take advantage of a POS then the rule is you need to defend it too.

It works both ways too... PVPers need to get ships from somewhere, what you're asking is basically like a PVPer asking to have ships magically appear for them to use without having to buy them from industrialists like yourself.
