Fortunately, I can at least get in a LITTLE and do my skills.

And play TF2 while I wait.

I am still awaiting a petition reply.

This should be a high priority petition like Stuck is.

At least with Stuck you can actually log into EVE unlike not being able to at all Sad

This is a joke. No petition reply or no Dev posting to this thread all day.

I've not been able to properly play EVE at all.

Why should these game play petitions answered quickly take priority to not being able to play at all?

Looks like I won't be playing EVE for the next few weeks or possibly forever the way this is going. Just gonna have to play other games for now and keep EVE mailing through the forums without interacting with anyone in game. Having to cancel events that i was going to do with in game friends all because of a stupid bug Sad

PLEASE get this sorted out because I need to get back onto EVE asap

I have the same issue. It could be related to the launcher somehow since my second client (made with eve clone maker) doesn't freeze.

edit: I tried to create an extra clone, and it's having the same issue.

I want to apologize for the lack of updates of any kind or even an acknowledgement in this regard. We have been quite aware of this issue for a while through the forum threads and petitions on the matter, but unfortunately we were not able to pinpoint the exact cause until today and as such did not really have any news to share with you, or any workarounds to offer for this. However, as of this point, this specific issue of being unable to select a character and getting into the game should already be corrected and you should be able to log in normally once again. We are of course taking measures to prevent this from happening again in the future.

If you have been completely unable to log in due to this issue in the past week or so, then please feel free to file a petition within the "Billing and Account" or the "Technical"->"Mac" category, so we can find ways to make up for the unused game time on your account. If you already have an open petition on this matter, please just leave it open and we will get to it as soon as humanly possible.

This both good and bad, what are GM saying?
Error on Server side or our clients? ( no patch released what I see)

It's WAY over do for CCP to make a settings backup/restore Tool

And off C. users trash settings during frantic reinstalls and test ( the first support say when contacted )

SO, can some CCP GM plz say what files has what settings stored , PLZ!

Any one els have that info?

Best Regards

Extra Q, the repair Tool, is it suppose to delete all settings?!?!

(user/Library/Application Support/EVE Online/p_drive/All Users/Application Data/CCP/EVE)

is any other folder used for settings?

Plz CCP GM, PLZ help AND fix a backup/restore Tool, now

What I mean is this issue still happens. I don't want to keep going around this issue and its easily reproducible for me and many other players.

Opening a client 1, then opening another client 2 then logging in client 2 resolved the issue for me.

However it still happens. However what I said above is the way around it.

Believe it or not I got it working. I don't know what the **** it was man, maybe a fluke, however sometimes i get that same exact error. I upgraded my computer to lion, and still had the problem initially, cleared all my eve folders and stuff, still the problem.

What worked for me i think was getting into the game without changing my resolution settings, window size, or UI then going into windowed mode, opening a new client (like for an alt) while the other one was logged in, then messing with the settings.
That worked for me man . . .

This was a mail I passed to a eve friend about how I worked around the issue. Hope this helps, and I hope CCP fixes the issue . . .

Ccp, this is still an occasional issue for me. Please at least let us know that something's bein done to resolve it. I'm beginning to feel there's no interest in fixing the issue other than a fluff, we will get around to it response????

Even though I do not have this problem and I really appreciate your response to this thread, I have to admit this is a perhaps one of the biggest communications insults to your Mac player base in a long time.

You say that CCP was aware of the issue and working on it, but until you had it fixed you had no news to share. Well, isn't "we are aware of the problem and working on it" news to share? You have customers who can not even play the game and are trying desperately to figure out the problem, and even more desperately trying to find out if CCP is even listening and CCP's attitude is to make them keep guessing until you think you have the whole thing solved? Really?

If you knew that this was a problem on your side (and since we got no info on what happened but you are refunding game time and there was no client patch for the "fix" then we have to assume it was server side) then is it really fair to let you customers waste their own time trying to fix a problem with your game that didn't even exist on their side of the connection?

As it appears some people still have this issue are they to just assume you are working on it even though you say it has been fixed? How are they to know now if CCP is only communicating with the Mac player base after the fact now?

Also while It is great you did give us some information, it raises one huge questions. Why is a DEV not responding? Since we as a community (Mac users) have had to debug and find our own work arounds so much on our own as it is, the lack of any info from a DEV on what the problem was is just another insult to a community used to insults and abandonment.
