hi, my parents are getting me a credit card. i may or may not be using it for online purchases, and they wanted to know if i were to buy something online with this card ( visa )
would i be re informed about this purchase aside from the email that i gave eve? Like it would show somewhere else besides the email tells me that i bought this item? My parents are worried about this.

don't ask me why they are getting me a credit card. haha its complicated.

thank you in advance!

Credit card statements show transaction information. These can be checked online. You can also receive paper statements on a monthly basis.

Surely your parents would know about this sort of thing, unless they don't have credit cards themselves?

I'm pretty sure e-mail is the most popular/exclusive delivery of receipt of payment on the internet. CCP is not going to mail you a receipt via post. Your parents seem a little behind the times.

Also, the transaction would obviously show up on your billing statement and banks generally give you the choice of receiving statements through e-mail or standard post.

Every purchase made with any kind of card can usually be tracked by a transaction log by the financial institution that issued the card. If I were to buy something online with my debit card, I can log into my bank account and see that purchase...

You can also see transaction related to EVE via the account management section on the official EVE site.

Unless this isn't what you're talking about...

It sounds to me like your parents want to police/supervise your spending. If they are giving you a credit card linked to an account that they own, I can understand their concern. There is no way to provide your parents with a power of veto unless they hold the card and you have to go through them to have spending approved.

You might want to raise the suggestion of opening your own account with a limited line of credit, with a fortnightly or weekly review of the account statement alongside a review of the receipts that you've collected. Alternately, have a look at prepaid credit cards, or a debit card linked to your savings account.

Let us know how it works out, it might also help to get some details from your parents about what they're hoping to achieve. There are plenty of folks in the EVE community who are financially minded — it's not referred to as "spreadsheets in space" for no reason Lol

CCP does not email you anything, it just appears on your credit card statement each month.

best advice is dont get a credit card........... they are evil things

use a pre paid crard instead.......... that way u avoid nasty bills

Everytime you buy something that says "made in china" you are helping the rising unemployment in your own country unless you are from china, Buy locally produced goods and help create more jobs.

Let me guess. A very good way to build a good credit score is to get a credit card (good interest rates preferred - with no outrageous user fees), and use it to make occasional purchases which you then pay off real fast avoiding the interest penalty. If one is very conscientious about this, one can wind up with a stellar credit rating allowing the purchase of an automobile or (what mom and dad may have in mind) obtaining financial aid for college.

In this time of very tight credit, it's a good device. The big HOWEVER to this is discipline. Using a credit card can become like eating peanuts...just one more won't matter, and before you know it, you owe so much money your credit rating ends up in the toilet and nobody will loan you the money for a car, or college tuition. One thing you might consider is, your parents are taking this route because they've decided they can trust that you have the required discipline not to derail the process and create problems for yourself you'll be spending a decade trying to solve.

This may take some serious thought.

Oh. Your original question. Reputable sellers have arrangements with credit card companies to maintain and release digital documentation which is taken as valid by both ends, the seller and the card company. You'll be issued a proof of purchase with account information, including a number indicating the specific transaction that is a matter of record and can be used to dispute or modify any transaction as needed. Gotta love this high tech stuff. I remember when there were no secure transaction pages on the web...but that's another story.

Paradise is like where you are right now, only much, much better.

Or is waht you're really asking - I'm going to buy some plex on my parents credit card without them knowing, is there any way they can find out?

The answer is yes, and it's considered theft...

1 Dont ever overspend than what you make in disposable a month.

2 Pay off completely at the end of the month

3 Credit Cards are not to be treated like a loan

4 Its okay to break out the card rack up points if your card partipates in a reward program HOWEVER PAY IT OFF THAT SAME MONTH.

5 Pay it off at the end of the month. Keep it paid off. Because one day you may just get that absolute disaster that your near empty credit card will ensure a saving of a limb or even life.

6 Pay it off at the end of the month. If you need alot of money get a loan.

7 If you ever drown in debt in the future for not paying the credit card off. Get what you all have pay off the highest intrests firsts shift to the lowest intests next call the credit card companies to negotiaate a payment deal. Becuase when faced with you going though bankrupcy and you giving them Some of the money you owe they rather take the money than nothing. You'd be suprised on even some of the most amarr damned companies will bend over backwards to break a deal on payment. Once paid drop them.

8 Stick with two cards at most get ones that make sense for your area, for example Visa is accepted everywhere where I live, but not american express (which is odd since its in america), there is no need to go off and get specaility store cards most cards or banks offer similar reward cards which are better in deals and rates.

9 Pay it off at the end of the month.

10 Proactive your credit card, make sure nothing funny starts showing up like xxxhotsalesxxx.co registering on your receipts when you specifically dont shop for those kind of things online.

11 type HTTPS web addy instead of HTTP for your browser shopping online

Yep, most any of the online purchases I've done (and there have been hundreds) have ended with a "receipt" page, that can either be printed or saved as an archive/pdf file and stored somewhere on your computer. I've got a file stuffed full of them somewhere, that I occasionally organise and tidy up. You want the page that has your order number and other pertinent information.

Now, if you're trying to use your parents' card to purchase something, which seems most likely from the way you've worded things (not many parents I know in this day and age who aren't aware of electronic receipts)... probably a bad idea. Even if you use your e-mail address (which a confirmation of payment e-mail -will- be sent to), your parents will still end up seeing the payment listed in their statement, in addition to an ISA fee. If they check their statements regularly online (as most people do nowadays), they'll be even more likely to notice it. Not to mention, if it's a credit card linked to their checking account, and they're anything like the vast majority of people I know (myself included), you could easily end up overdrawing their account -- lots of people only tend to keep the bare minimum in expenses for a week, and they will notice when they're a suspicious twenty or so dollars over budget.

LOL yes how did you figure this out? god you are a clever one aren't you? good thing I've already stolen close to 5,000 dollars. hope my parents won't find out. dumb*** lmao.

now that my parents are back home, they seemed pretty pleased that i had acquired this info. lol cause prior to me posting this, i had gone on to credit card forums to no avail. they told me exactly what you guys have said, which seems to me is quite logical. occasional spending, paying it off, = good credit score. PLUS the need of discipline is a good experience.

again, stuff all, wait most of you ( see the above dumb*** ) have already said.

again, thanks for the reply! lol I'm actually quite excited :).

both your monthly statement and in your online account
(trust me when you get the card go create an account on the card website, details will be all over the statement)

I'm assuming they will get the statement, but they want you so be aware of what you spend, so just have access to the online thing (your parents will hve access also)

other than that all you get is a monthly email that the subscription renewed
