[idea] Purchasing Kill Rights

Why is it that I can wardec a corp, but if I want to target an individual, I either have to go after their entire corporation OR suicide gank them (of course, I'm assuming they live in hisec)?

I think that this should change just a little bit - for a reasonable cost, but not cheap, you should be able to purchase kill rights to an individual player in EVE. Perhaps 1/4 the cost of a wardec of a basic corporation - something reasonable but not too cheap as to make it happen every day.

Why, you ask?

How often have you been scammed by a player but are unable to do anything about it because you don't have the resources to take on their corporation as a whole? How often has someone bumped you again and again, and you'd love to shoot them without Concord getting involved? This would help allow players a chance to get back at those who have wronged them.

As I see it, here is how it would work:
-Player A decided that Player B has to die
-Player A purchases the killrights to player B; player B is not notified of this, and player A can shoot player B after 12 hours
-Player A can now kill player B one time in the next 30 days, when the killrights expire

Player A loses the killrights after he either kills player B OR after 30 days during which no kill is made. Player B cannot shoot first at player A (although player A will be red in his overview) - by purchasing the killrights, player A gets to decide when the engagement happens, unless player B decided to also purchase killrights against player A.

This may also create a bit of an ISK-sink, which is needed in this game (in my opinion) with all of the easy hisec ISK that is being made.

What do you think? I swear threads have been made about this before, but I searched Kill rights, purchase kill rights, buy kill rights, and several other combinations and didn't find anything on this topic. Maybe the search function isn't working right now (kinda like most posts take two attempts to get up, it seems).

Lol......

This is a griefer's wet dream.... I bet they had multiple orgasms just reading your post!!!

In all seriousness:

1.) War deccing a corp is CHEAP.... Just dec the entire corp.... because deccing one person really is about ganking them, its not about fights. Your suggestion essentially makes it open season to pew pew everyone.

2.) Half the "scammers" in this game are market/contract alts that never leave station as it is. Do you really think you'll have the opportunity for revenge with a mechanic like this? You forgot to include the penalty that any player that you buy killrights on is automatically ejected from station if they are docked longer than 3 minutes. That way you can be sure to get your isk worth.

3.) Your essentially removing the suicide penalties, standing penalties, and killright penalties from empire suicide ganking. And your having it last for 30 days. How is this possibly viewed as a good thing? People are already whining and bitching about empire gankers and wardec griefers forcing unwanted PvP on defenseless carebears, imaging the uproar this will cause.

4.) Your really undermining the idea of killrights. Killrights are given to a person who was wrongfully killed, and didn't attempt to defend themselves. Your suggestion gives killrights to anyone who pays a pittance of isk to concord. If this were to be considered, it should be renamed to Assassination Rights, costing 500m isk for a single week of hunting.

5.) Keep posting troll ideas like this, your sure to collect lots of forum tears.
