New Dominix model?!

Only for these background 'station traffic' NPCs, but take a look...

Roll I´m not sure what your are seeing but i see just a regular Dominix that hasn´t been changed in ages

It's because developers used low poly models for ships in the backgrounds, so no one would say "WTF CCP, why hangars working so slow and on my 10-year old Pentium?" Cool

I'd like to see other iterations in future though. With high poly random models (not pre-defined in scene) and flying everywhere in hangar.

I'd also like to see many more ships all through the hangar, more venting steam, more forcefields etc.
People with pentiums etc. can select not to load the station environment.

DX11 in EvE? I thought the game would die off first before that would even become a reality.



Oh and the domi looks like a low poly count to me too.

Can we get a realistic ship hangar? Im sorry but i cant fathom a place where someone would come in from space, dockup massive or small ships and sit floating above a hole or a small island, with little to no connection to the rest of the station. It doesnt make sense. where is our stuff supposed to be sitting? in invisible space cus i dont see any room on the hangar floor.

This is a real hangar. Space for more than one ship to be placed, where you can also see space for the ship to get repaired or feuled up or get more ammo or just be able to put mods. The hangars in eve and mind you i know its a game but are so beyond unrealistic its laughable that someone would build a docking system as such. From the non captains quarters i see no feasable way any pilot could functionally dock and do anything with his assets or ships.

I would think that the below would turn into the new Vexor model.

Blends in with the above listed dominix model (also from the same artist).

Some slight tweaks would be needed to shrink the hull, and to make it look less like a Oracle that is laying down on its back. Maybe a orbital array around the middle (similar to how the Hyperion has its engines on, for guns and dronebay. Bulk's it up a little, but gives it more life.

regardless, I like both designs. Fits the whole 'Droneboat", and moves it away from the kind of.. generic potato, of the two hulls.

All that is is a a low poly Domi model with station textures plastered onto it to save loading time and memory while giving the general impression of a Domi far off in the background.

The Myrm behind it is done the same way.

I keep reading about a new model. The one above is clearly not it but it seems there is one coming.
There's a lot of expectation now around fanfest - hope CCP deliver!
