Epic Arc suggestions

I've been a bit bored with just doing lvl4 missions and was thinking about trying an Epic Arc. I dont know alot about them other than the very first 'Sisters' arc but each race has one, right? I'm Gallente and was interested in it but do not know where to start. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

The Gallente Epic arc is definitely the most difficult of the Epic arcs. I needed to call in a corp member to assist me with a few of the missions that have Battleships with MWDs. There is some good isk and goodies to be had though. This guide helped me a lot http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Gallente_Epic_Arc_-_Syndication

Good luck!

That has the locations and the required standings to access the starting agents.

For guides, I use the Evelopedia, Mission Reports and the Lorebook for reference.

I think the very last mission of the Caldari Epic Arc is the toughest due to the perma-jam done by four Elite Cruisers. That mission basically makes Gunships null and void. It's the only mission of all the arcs that I had to call in help from a friend.

One more thing, you get to do the Arc once every 90 days. So if you enjoy it go grind the standings for the other three as well.

I like to run the Minmi & Gallente, then 45 days later I do the Amarr & Caldari.

Has anyone had any experience with the Amarr epic quest lately? I was told massive Sansha TD made it extremely painful to complete, but I haven't seen anything since the last TD tweak.

I will be doing it again in 3 or 4 days, but the last time I did it (90 days ago) I didn't notice it being any harder than normal. Will update here after I complete it and comment on any additional difficulties.

Thanks Goldiiee, that would be appreciated. I'm nearing the point of doing it myself, I just haven't had the time to commit to it lately.

I am interested in this as well

I was wondering if it is doable without an alt, with a Rattlesnake.
Also, do you have to de the missions all in a row, or can you wait between each?

rattler can do it solo without too much trouble even in the tough missions if you tank specifically, you can omnitank the rattler to do all 4 arcs but you need faction omnis t2 rigs and that is more money then I personally care to spend on pve. but it can be done if you dont like me spend all your iskies on pvp ^^

I just did the Amarr Arc a couple days ago. I did it with a golem so the TD didnt matter but it was pretty easy. Did the whole thing in a single session. About a plex worth of rewards.

Well I started the Amarr Epic arc last night, I have two toons that accept the missions so I actually do each mission twice, usually warping them into separate sites and Arty or Autocannon the rats away. But Sasha TD has made one turret ship all but useless until you close range and overcompensate for the TD, so I added tank (Crystal set clone) and continued; with enough tank to ignore them it was still very annoying trying to keep my guns at optimal when disrupted.

Finally gave up and just dual boxed each mission, with one ship TD’ed and the other killing elite cruisers, I would not want to do these missions solo in a turreted ship

BTW I used a pair of 800mm ‘1400dps’ or 1400mm ‘1000dps’ Machs with shield tanks just over 1200dps. The 800dps tank without the crystals was not enough to deal with the constant range changes needed for the TD, as I was TD down to 15km of falloff as soon as the spawns appeared.

What I found works perfectly well for all the LvL 4 Epic Arcs when you do them solo is a 1400 Machariel with MJD. I did them recently with a fit something like:

Highs:
7x 1400mm Artillery T2
1x Tractor Beam (for those cans you need to pick up, doesn't really matter what you put here though)

Mids:
1x Micro Jump Drive
1x Adaptive Invul T2
1x Large Shield Booster T2
2x Sensor Booster/Tracking Computer (swap these out as you see fit to mix with locking range and optimal/tracking scripts)

Lows:
1x Damage Control (don't really need this, put a 4th Gyro instead)
3x Gyrostabs T2
3x Tracking Enhancers T2

Rigs:
Can't remember what I had here, you will need an ACR for those 1400s but the other two slots are up to you. Maybe a bit of cap life or more damage for those guns :-)

This fit works very well and there were only a few missions in the Gallente arc that needed warping in and out with some bookmarks. With correct positioning the tracking disrupting Sansha wont bother you in the Amarr arc as you will be to far out. For the Caldari arc I found the jamming to be an issue though in one of the last missions. For this I tried fitting two ECCMs instead of the SeBo/Tracking Comp Mids. Don't know if it helped much but I managed to do the mission eventually. Somebody that can help you out here with some damage will make your day much easier though. Other ships with a similar MJD setup will propably work allright as well (Navy Domi etc) but I picked the Machariel because of my skills and the possibility to pick damage types.

My last runnings of the lvl4 epic arcs were in tengu. No problems tanking the worst of them, even though the DPS a NPC-killing rates were not stellar. The especially neat thing about the tengu was when I wanted to accept those lowsec/nullsec options I could quickly reconfigure into a ship suitable for that … without bringing additional ships along.

Also I would be remiss in allowing any discussion of epic arcs to pass by without reminding that two of the eight epic arcs are entirely frigate friendly and offer the greatest reward of the lot … the angels and guristas pirate epic arcs. You cannot earn better PvE isk in a frigate, and running them teaches you a whole lot of new game dynamics. They’re great!

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

You can wait between epic arc missions for as long as you want. There's no expiration timer on them.

I can't say for any other epic arcs, but the Amarr Epic Arc would be very easy for a rattlesnake, make sure to kill the frigs first but besides that it should be easy for you, since the TD won't affect you. But turret ships might have quite a challange ahead if they are solo.
