Any way to find out an alliance's war status? ideally all wars and their status. I can't see anything in the API reference.

There's no API for this. The closest you can get is with an API key of a character in that alliance, reading the recent Notifications relating to war start/cooldown/end. If there are long-running wars the "start" notification might not be available, so you can still miss some.
