Hello;

I want to make sure that my forum posting career here at forums dot EVE Online dot com is long and productive one, and to that end I want to make sure that I stay on the good side of the law. Could one of the CCP employees who read this forum please respond to this thread with an in-depth explanation (preferably with examples) of exactly what sort of pictures of female human breasts constitute inappropriate images to be linked on this message board? I assume that full-on nudity of the breasts is not acceptable but there are many degrees of cleavage, transparency and implied presence among various visual media that may beg the question of propriety. I would like to have a firm and ample body of evidence and examples which I may reference so that in the future if I feel the urge to express images of real or fictitious women I may do so in such a way as not to disrupt the community standards.

Thank you in advance.

Or just don't post questionable pictures. What one Mod lets go, another might take offense to, there's no hard rule. If you aren't sure if it's appropriate, don't post it, since there's never any actual need for stuff like that.

It all depends on orientation.

If you take all the sand out of the box, only the cat poo will remain.

I am quite sure that there is nothing inappropriate about the human body; however, I am also quite sure that other people disagree with that for various reasons. Since we have a social contract to avoid offending each other whenever possible, I am just asking for the terms of that contract to be laid bare and revealed fully to us so that we can scrutinize it.

You never know. Awhile back some people were posting some [more or less sincere] "gay pride" threads and/or "any gay corp" threads or something of that nature... and a lot of people came out of the "wordwork" to protest the "offensiveness" of the content. The "Report" buttons were spammed and proposals were made in the Assembly Hall for moderators to lock any and all threads on the subject (because god forbid, any children playing EVE Online might be exposed to such "offensive" terms and viewpoints).

You might not get the same reaction as what happened in the above example... but the point still stands; what you might not find offensive someone might. And because there are few "official" rules governing content here on the EVE-O forums there is no telling what you might or might not get away with.

I will echo what others have said... when in doubt, don't post it.

Right, and that is why I am requesting an official and public response so that we have a clearly defined rule. I want to avoid the ambiguity that can arise from subjective judgments passed by a particular moderator, and to avoid the possibility of an orchestrated drive to report a specific post by people whom are offended. I also want to avoid the possibility of a group of spiteful players teaming up on me to massively report me out of sheer meanness in the hypothetical event that I were to upset some specific player-run entity. People can be vindictive and cruel, you know? And some times for no good reason. I just want to cover my butt, and hopefully uncover some bosoms.

How is it we find nothing objectionable about classical art yet we find ourselves screaming and foaming at the mouth at the merest hint of a nipple slip?

I, for one, think CCP should allow us our bosoms. Our bare bosoms.

I feel you belong in the fine ranks of Goonswarm Federation. Specifically, and most definitionly, in the honored halls of Theta Squad - home of the bosom threadnaught.

What do I do to become a Goonwaffe? That one guy in that other thread did a lot of humiliating stuff and made a fool of himself, but didn't get in. Just so you know, I'm not going to sing for my supper.

Re-read what I wrote. You won't get an "official" response because there are few "strict"/"official" rules (and what "strict"/"official" rules do exist are moderated at the discretion of different mods (or what mods we still have left) according to their personal whim).

Welcome to the EVE Online forums... where ANYTHING you say can, and will, be used against you with extreme prejudice for no reason other than "I didn't like what you wrote." You will never "win" here... not even with "logic" or "rules" on your side. Twisted

Kill yourself with fire.

Null-Sec needs to HTFU and stop crying to CCP. If null-sec wants PvP, they need to stop being carebears and start fighting eachother - after years of bot-mining, they have the ships!
