I remember hearing that CCP was talking about allowing them to affect missiles. Was this ever implemented?

nope

Edit: ok realize thats not particularly enlightening Roll

They didnt roll it out because it would create too many variances in balancing. They tweaked missiles, are now giving it a little time to see if anything needs changing or something else needs to be done, and THEN they'll look into disruptors n things

Missiles are bad enough in PvP as it is. It would be very hard for CCP to have a balanced approach to TD's working on them.

I very much doubt they ever will implement this.

Tracking disruptors are already pretty overpowered.

I predict they will nerf them for most ships while increasing the ship bonuses for them on Sentinel, Aribtrator etc to compensate.

Although it might make sense from an RP perspective. When it comes to actual balance the missiles are already hard to balance fairly as turrets hit their target nearly before being fired and the missiles have actual fight time to deal with. Many missiles ships have been vaporized at long range while they still had half a dozen volleys floating towards the target.

This in itself is hard to balance but if target disruption should effect missiles that are mid air then they would have to buff missiles even further to balance it out. This will either make missiles over powered against people not jamming or utterly ineffective against those who are jamming.

The very sun of heaven seemed distorted when viewed through the polarising miasma welling out from this sea-soaked perversion, and twisted menace and suspense lurked leeringly in those crazily elusive angles of carven rock where a second glance shewed concavity after the first shewed convexity.

Instead of making Tracking Disruptors working for missiles CCP should rather fix the Defender Missile. Best solution would be to add two "Defender-Missile-Only-Modules" one for the small (low grid, low CPU requirements) and the other for the heavy defender (high grid, more CPU requirements) missiles.

These modules should be fitted in a high-slot but they should not need a turrent or missile slot, so that you can fit them onto any ship. Furthermore, once activated the module should fire defender missiles at all missiles incoming to your ship (priority 1) and then at all missiles coming close to your ship which are fired by a ship which is a valid enemy of you (priority 2). Finally, the module should not deactivate itself until it run out of missiles or you jump etc. (like a usual weapon system and not like currently when it deactivates as soon as there are no enemy missiles on field).

its odd to see so many people supporting the missile buffs. Nullsex is already a drake fest and now they just buffed missiles and made them easier to fit, really giving Drake pilots nothing to fear. If this is the case, the tracking disruptor on missiles just makes sense. Especially since it seems like all ships are getting larger drone bays... whats the lowly frigate guy to do?

Isn't tracking determined in the warhead and not the launcher?

TD affecting missiles make no sense what so ever.

Now if they sorted out the horrible defenders then it would be worthwhile

That is the Way, the Tao.

Balance is everything.

hope not , another dumbing down and generalization ... oh god they realy want to make this game as booring and easy(choice free) as possible

whats the point in fitting if you cant realy choose anything , oh dps ship -> little tank dps mods , prop mod weee done ,refined cookiecutter fits everywhere ,boooooring

TD's are 100% effective, and can completely nullify the offensive power of ANY turret ship. They are even strong on unbonused ships (although you won't see complete shutdown, you can reduce an enemy's DPS by a lot) The only reason they aren't fitted to every PVP ship in existence is because of missile boats.

They must never, ever apply to missiles or "because of Falcon" will become "because of Crucifier"
