I'm going to abstain from commenting much in regard to my own opinion of Mr. Inhonores's venture, here - Though I will say that I find the idea of simply building an entire city and then asking people to move in after the fact a little bizzare and culturally sterile - It is a tad peculiar that it seems to be garnering such a considerable level of distaste from others in comparison to the equally sized personal corporations, petty holder domains, and other similar Capsuleer projects that many seem to flaunt about.

...It might just be that the whole thing does ring a little pretentious. You might want to tune the classical themes down a bit, if you don't mind me saying.

Miss Ikiryo, I am merely capsuleer liason, and hold no position in the Elusenian Provisional Government. Instead, my position is reserved to holding a seat on the Destiny Foundation's Board of Directors, which has limited influence regarding Elusenia's aesthetic choices.

It seems a few pilots have comprehension difficulties and failed to note my non-political status. I presume it is because they forwent actually reading about Elusenia and decided to go straight to scoring points.

Today we have a lesson on soft and hard power - specifically the difference between control and influence and how they are BOTH effect. Capsuleer LIAISON. And your daughter, who has yet to reach her majority, has earned her way to a seat on the board through Merit?

Transparent.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

As a neutral onlooker; you're not winning any favors with this tone.

Again, reading up on Destiny Foundation is crucial here. Anette Inhonores is co-chair by virtue of the fact that our primary source of income is from her work in the entertainment industry. Although her non-adult age makes her oblivious to some of the nuances of corporate politics, she has her own personal set of advisors and artificial intelligences to inform her.

We regard Anette Inhonores's position as co-chair to be meritorious, due to the fact Destiny Foundation would not even exist without her efforts. It is ironic that, as the youngest member of the organization, she works harder than most of the adults in our employ.

I didn't realize you were so binary, Seriphyn.

Well, I could see how that would be desirable for some women. Simple. You know where you stand.

Still, I have a hard time imagining that you would struggle so much to be polite without being patronizing.

Oh, you know what? To the wastes with it. You're clearly beyond comprehending sense - you've obviously spent so long talking about this that you've convinced yourself of the sense of it and you can't be reached by outside agencies.

Just don't expect the rest of us to do like the baseliners do and smile and nod and pretend you're some kind of legitimate Statesman - because we know who you are and you don't have enough money to make us forget.

But you're right - ingenuous irrelevances and misplaced passive aggressive condescension are pretty much the only tones I've ever seen you speak in. It's probably why I can't abide you when I can even make peace with Julianus Soter - and that man tries to kill me daily!

Well, yes, I definitely am not a legitimate Statesman, as I already mentioned I hold no political office in Elusenia. The capsuleer liason role is tied to Destiny Foundation, not Elusenia.

And you have no other authority, interest or influence on the project - which is co-chaired by your daughter, who is a minor, of whom you are the sole parent, I believe?

The question of why a tiny republic would even NEED a capsuleer liaison, quite aside.

I'm certain I speak for the entire State when I say that we look forward to absorbing your corporate Republic and enjoying the benefits that it will bring for both parties.

I should just like to say;

The people of the Destiny Foundation are very nice people. They have shown the citizens of Nourvukainen great respect and kindness, and were welcome in Kakakela while they were here. The current political troubles with the Federation aside, they are friends of many Caldari. I'm glad to hear that they have a homeworld to call their own, now.

TL;DR

I have a question for Miss Inhonores:

1) Have you been gifted a pony by your father, the government of Elusenia, any private citizen of Elusenia, or any of the fans of your holo-vid works?

And if not:

2) Have you ever asked for a pony from your dad? I bet he'd totally cave.

I may regret putting this hat on again after so many years, but I frankly don't see how this is much different than the little nation-states that collect around each of us as capsuleers. Think about it. The poorest of us employ as many baseliners as a small planetside corporation. We are free to engage in trade and diplomacy (and by that I mean "declare war") on others with no regard for any citizenship they hold with any empire. We may charge off past the borders of those empires to found our own. About the only difference I can see in this is that it is not (not claimed to be, at least) an organization created to serve capsuleers.

Lots of "we" here, on behalf of capsuleers, I guess.

May I ask why you keep complaining about this? If Inhonores believes his time is better served doing what he is currently doing and it is of no consequence to you, why do you care so much? Especially if he annoys you. Consider your involvement in this matter carefully, you do not want to be the one telling Gallenteans what they should and should not be doing, in their own lands.

You know what, you're right. I believe this to be a vanity project doomed to end in unhappiness for the poor experimental test subjects, but it's no more or less odious than several such experiments currently ongoing. Despite the fact that several facets of it's planning and inception fly in the face of what I believe to be responsible governance - it isn't happening in the State and it isn't affecting State Citizens.

All Inhonores was doing was publishing a press release to the Capsuleer community - something well within his remit as 'Capsuleer Liaison' and, if I'm honest, the responsible thing to do is let the Marketplace of Ideas decide upon it's worthiness.

While the project doesn't seem to be of particular interest to the rest of the Capsuleer community, wanton slaughter of innocent baseliners is beyond the pale.
