Whether you agree / disagree or are oblivious to the new "balancing" changes for Battleships in the next patch, you owe it to yourself to voice your opinion at the following thread.

Some changes are good, some you have to wonder who in their right mind would propose such a terrible idea.

*Cough Hyperion change in particular.

In my personal opinion, I find it very ironic that the previous patch seemed to boost t1 cruisers so much. It was an awesome patch, and provided PVP at a fun and affordable level. But this patch seems that CCP is just dying to nerf Battleships by removing bonuses to resistances, and switching around fitting slots in some upsetting and drastic ways.

Battleships are supposed to be beefy brawlers, not watered down from their current state. So once again, voice your opinion at your race's thread.

Being honest I like the changes (the new geddon is sexy). But, on the other hand, I hope they leave faction navy battleships as they are for the sake of variability.

i don't see any big nerfs i see CCP pushing ships into a more clear role than they had before
only shame that the hyperion sees so little love , a damn good looking ship obvious a pve oriented ship but i never found it comfortable flying one

I just want to know how prices will be adjusted
now t3 is 2 times more expensive than t1

how is it going to be after patch?

Since they have nerfed T3 and boosted T1, I would say they will make the mineral reqs similar to tier 2.

I saw the changes proposed to the Raven and started crying with joy.

That Speed Boost was sorely needed, aside from the PG/CPU Boost for my Torp setup Big smile

Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

Stop putting drones and missiles on my amarr ships i trained lasers for a reason >.<

We dont all need borderline identical ships, what next giving the other 3 races a set of EW ships just to completely remove the fact that you picked a race and have to deal with what it does or doesn't have -.-

Thats not really the point here, look at how many amarr ships dont use the right racial weapons, then look at the other races and compare the number of ships they have that don't follow the racial normal either :P

Only race that has a large difference now is amarr due to all the missile boats and drone boats they have been adding, if you want drones train for a drone race like gallente who have always had numerous ships based on drones

Its not like any other races potential laser boats are going to be better then amarr laser boats at shooting lasers. TBH Amarr needs the flexibility on damage type selection the Dragoon, Prophecy and Armageddon offer.

Drones are not exclusive of Gallente
Missiles are not exclusive of Caldari

Learn the difference between "exclusive of" and "specialized in"

Amarr ships are specialized in lasers. Most amarr ships have laser bonus, but some ships are also missile ships (khanid ships are specialized in short range missiles) and also drone ships (arbitrator is one of the oldest drone ships)

Why you want 3 laser battleships? Question

They are adding a reason to train further and having more flexibility.

Ships that don't use lasers:
Arbitrator
Curse

Purifier (But you can't really have a stealth bomber that shoots lasers)

Both carriers (Obviously)
Vengeance
Malediction
Heretic
Sacrilege

Ships I didn't include:
Industrial ships
EWar ships that only have guns/missiles for show/drone defence.
Purifier (You can't really have a stealth bomber that shoots lasers)
Navy ships.
Sansha and Blood Raider ships

I'm not going to do a list of ALL the factions because I can't be bothered doing what I just did 3 more times, but you'll find the same thing with Minmatar ships. Gallente and Caldari are a bit more focused on their main weapon systems (Drones, hybrids and missiles)

Edit: Drones are the Amarrs secondary weapon system anyway so its not like its out of place for an Amarr ship to use them, like missiles for Minmatar. Also most missile ships are Khanid anyway, and their main weapon system is missiles.

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.

Seriously , why did you do that ccp ? Now if i need a brawling BS i'm going to have to buy the much more expensive abbadon ? i hope you guys are going to keep tabs on the popularity of the ship before and after the patch , because i think it will change drastically.

It would be interesting if we could be able to make a selection between different "versions" of the same hull. For example, when "unpackaging" your Megathron, a pop up menu could appear and enable you to select between versions 1, 2 or 3 (at no additional cost). These versions could have different bonuses, different number of H, M and L slots. Differences in CPU, powergrid, and so on. People who love a particular race would then have the luxury to fly their favourite ships, in more types of situations.

Ship re-balances such as this would have less negative impacts on the players who love to fly and fit T1 battleships the way they always used to. This would also enable you CCP to either remove, modify or even add a new "version" of the same hull.

Think about it CCP.

considering the mineral requirements, as far as i'm aware, haven't been announced yet... nobody has any idea what the price will be post balance pass.

All I see with the BS changes is CCP taking ship people hardly use and giving people a reason to use them. No reason for any outrage imo.

BS class does not really have "hardly used" ships, unlikely to cruisers and frigates.
maybe except hyperion that will stay same anyway

Please note the forum section those changes are posted in. Ideas and Features. Meaning it's what they want to do, are asking for feedback, and want to know what people think. Doesn't mean you should get your panties in a bunch about it yet because they are not set into concrete. Relax... breathe...
