Need PLEX for a character sale, offering profit share or free character

Hello,

I've returned after a long hiatus, mainly because my spouse got interested in the game and I wanted to have a look whether I have any assets left that could be of use to her. Sadly I still don't have any time to play the game so this will probably be the only month this character will be active for the time being.

Anyway, before I leave again I am wondering if I should sell my trading alt (Mia Talaris, on a separate account), since I am quite sure that I will not be needing her again. I do not have the 500mil for a PLEX though (before I left I gave most of my possessions to a friend), and I don't want to buy additional game time just for this purpose.

Since it has been years since I have been playing with her, I don't even know how many SP she got. According to evewho.com she left the corporation a bit less than 8 months after birth, but I do not know how much of that time she was actively learning skills. It could be anything from about 2 to 8 months.

What I do remember is that she had sufficient trading skills to enable me to easily pay for her own gametime and add a sizeable bit of profit on top (by casually updating market orders and putting courier contracts up).

In any case I believe that she must be worth something to somebody who wants to start a new character, trading or not. Like my main character, she will also probably have those three bonus remaps and a number of free skill points from the learning skills reimbursement.

So what I am wondering is, whether somebody could provide her a PLEX, so I could try to sell her for a good amount (after improving some more skills for most of the month) and share a part of the profits with the investor (after returning the investment). If I can't sell her for more than the value of the PLEX, I would provide the character to the investor for free (or whatever you would consider a fair compensation at that point).

Of course I cannot guarantee that this is not some odd scam attempt to get a free month of game time, so there is a certain amount of risk involved. Aside from that, it should be a guaranteed win for the investor.

Do you think this is worthwhile, or do you think the character is too young to bother with selling her? In case you are interested, please let me know what percentage of profit sharing you would accept (I am thinking about 10%, so if she'd sell for 1bil, I'd return the 500mil for the PLEX plus 50mil profit share to you. Better offers are welcome of course!).

Scamming with character purchases is against the rules. If you try to scam you will not only lose your isk, but you will get banned.

Also this thread is in the wrong forum it belongs in the character bazaar.

This is not the character I'm selling, the point is that I need a PLEX to activate the character I want to sell.

That's also why I didn't post this in the character bazaar, it is my understanding that only characters at sale are allowed to post there. The actual sale will be posted in the character bazaar of course.

It costs 2 PLEX to transfer a character, you'd better off just buying 2 PLEX and selling them on the market.

It costs 2 plex to transfer a character.

Tread carefully. Scams involving character transfers are against the rules. And the decision of "what involves a character scam" is entirely up to CCP.

So unless getting all of your accounts frozen is a risk you are willing to take. I will advise that you "find another sollution" and quietly leave.

Also note that it is not only the account you are currently using that could get hit with the ban hammer. CCP can also easily identify your other accounts

OP is asking for one PLEX to reactivate the account.

The two PLEX for transfer are commonly bought after the buyer has sent the isk.

Oh I see, I forgot about the character transfer fee.

So without investing real money, this idea is only worth it if the character would sell for more than 1,5bil, and since I do not know how many SP there are on it, that is probably far from guaranteed.

I will drop the idea then for the time being (unless somebody is as curious as me and feels like taking a risk on it, then let's talk). Perhaps there'll be another free account activation offer one day, so I can find out about the status of the character at least.

And just to be clear, I have and had no intentions whatsoever to do anything that goes against the rules.

If your API key for the char has not expired, you can always dl Evemon and check what skills etc the char has before reactivating it.

The last time I accessed the character was in 2008, so I assume there is very little chance of that..?

I doubt you need the account active in order to log into account management to get a new api key.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

This you can also activate an account for a few hours in order to buy and apply a PLEX.

Thanks, that worked. I was able to use Mac Eve Tools to find out the character's skills (it's 7,1mil, plus an unknown number of unassigned SP probably).

Meanwhile my spouse already uninstalled the game (too addicting :)) and I don't have it installed at the moment either, so I will leave it be for now.

mate ccp gives u the option to access ur toon for 4hrs so u can inject a plex. so why not do that the get a screen shot of ur skills. if you have 7m sp + u did learning skills to max before so that means u have over 5m sp of unallocated skills. ur toon is well worth more than 1.5b

if thats the case, anyone would give u the isk for 1plex to give u the time to sell the toon.

also i would give u that isk since ccp will ban all ur accounts if u scam me which is nice.
