Al Gore is arguably the king of hippies.

Oh, hell no. Not even remotely.
Abby Hoffman, or Andy Warhol, or Timothy Leary.

Al Gore doesn't come within the same galaxy as those... Er, ... Luminaries.

Warhol is more associated with anti-hippies tbh.

That's what the Velvet Underground was for....a counter to hippy-dippy California hippie music of the time.

Eh. He went so far as to close the circle coming back around the other way. Call him... New York-style.

Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

The movie about her was good too. Meryl Streep as the lead.

A film that singularly brought up the dialogue about if we are handing out Oscars to the best actors, or the best imitators......

She may well have been a polarising figure, but given the mess she inherited when she was elected, she didn't do too badly, and she did open the way for women into the upper echelons of politics. I may not agree with a lot of what she did, but she doesn't deserve to be demonised for it.

There's no denying that she had balls either, she bluntly told the French that she would stomp all over them if they supplied Argentina with any more Exocet missiles during the Falklands Conflict.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Yeah. They just turned away and went quietly back to their cheese and onions. Lol

Disgusting. Here is part of your link:

"One person in attendance, Joshua Brown from the Unite the Resistance movement, said: "We're having a great time, down here. We have banners, placards, a sound system — there's a real celebratory atmosphere!"

Other protesters said they were "here to celebrate the death of a woman with blood on her hands — for the Falklands and miners"."

Would you rather be living in a country where rubbish isn't collected for weeks at a time? where the electricity is out for 4 or 5 hours a day? where people are working a 3 day week? where the Army has to put out fires? and where dead bodies are stacked up in morgues because nobody will bury them?

That was the reality of the UK before Mrs Thatcher became prime minister, and most of it was down to the unions. Yes she did some bad things, but she also broke the unions that basically bankrupted us in the 70's, and she went to bat for the British inhabitants of the Falkland Islands when they faced an invasion from a foreign power.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Anti-capitalist campaigners shouted from loudspeakers, "Maggie, Maggie, Maggie" as the crowd replied "dead, dead, dead".

So these people represent the... Better side then?

The very sun of heaven seemed distorted when viewed through the polarising miasma welling out from this sea-soaked perversion, and twisted menace and suspense lurked leeringly in those crazily elusive angles of carven rock where a second glance shewed concavity after the first shewed convexity.
