My friends and I are near Amarr. There's a rorqual pilot we are after. It's hard to explain, but there is a chance we will catch him with only a small security fleet around him.

There are 3 of us currently, I could get another 5-10 more as needed. But here is my thought: I recognize the Rorqual is not simply a hauler, or mining ship. It's a capital support ship with capital sized HP etc.

What would be a fleet composition sub-BS that could take down a rorqual moderately quickly? I was hoping for under 3 minutes, but I suspect that won't happen with a capship sized tank.

Can it be done? Assuming not everyone has the skills to fly Curse's to suck the cap dry. Im wondering more about BC's and Cruiser mixes, mostly on the BC heavy side. Hurricanes, probably some Drakes, maybe an Oracle or two.

Sorry for the incredibly general information. To summarize: we are wondering if killing a rorqual can be done with about 10-15 battlecruisers in a decent amount of time. If he has any security with him it appears to only be a battlecruiser or two, nothing more, so they will be dispatched first.

Just fit a neut on every BC and cap him out and drop his hull.

Use tier 3 battlecruisers.

Bring 2 battleships full of neuts (Tempests for a shield fleet, Armageddons for an armor fleet).

That should do it nicely and in a cost-effective way.

Get a couple Neut Prophecy(s). Decent drone dps (sentries) and highs full of neut goodness. Fairly easy to get into (read low SP characters). Just be sure to fit a cap booster.
