[video] Pro-Active 3 - small gang pvp

Hey!

This started as little side-project with something we called "chaos-roam" which was pretty much a roam where we flew whatever ship we fancied. Only requirement was having some form of active-tank and a linked speed of 2k/sec.

The gang slowly evolved into a more organized thing as I grew to like my wierdly fit Typhoon Fleet Issue. I teamed up for some duo/trio-roams with Daneel Trevize, EhDuin SalaDah and Kyang Tia and the result is this, the third addition to my Pro-Active series: Flight Of The Valkyries.

Ships flown:

Typhoon Fleet Issue (me)

Cynabal/Legion (Daneel Trevize)

Zealot (EhDuin SalaDah)

Talos (Kyang Tia)

Links are used in all fights.

I liked the music alot. Editing was minimal but did its purpose. I would just have bailed with a 2 falcons on grid, so props to you for staying and fighting it out. well done m8 o7

Wow amazing.

Really impressive flying and I love the concept. It is nice to see that the armor changes did pay off.

Cheers. But we started using the gang format before the armor patch. Except for a 0.1 second faster align time from the Honeycombing skill, the changes improved nothing for us, it worked just as well before.

Very nice finished version!

Also, I've taken the liberty to compress the file a bit further. Quality loss is noticeable but not as bad as on youtube.

After a way too long intro with disturbing effects, i watched the first fight and i am already tempted to close the window.
The Music sounds like mixed with hard background noise (i like metal but the screaming .. i wouldnt call it singer .. is just horrible imho, i rather listen to Blind Guardian) and you have really no clue whats going on. i'd rate the entertainment factor for me to very low.

Maybe it gets better with the next fight

Thanks for the comments but sure how to respond to this mate. First of all I don´t use any effects in the video so do you mean the txt boxes?

I understand the music I use doesn´t always appeal to everyone, I try and pick the tracks I think suits the situation and my taste might be questioned I suppose.

So seeing as it seems you had a hard time understanding what was going on, any suggestions on making it clearer? Could Always drop down to 100% playback and write a running commentary but that first fight was over 15 min long so that might bore most people.

Several of us were suggesting having more comms/comments of the fights, as most had all the audio captured and you get a much clearer idea how we're weaving in and out of hard tackle and just what our general opinion of the situation and plan to deal with it was as things evolved. But it'd be a different style vid, less easy entertainment, and not best suited to when we're getting used to how our ships perform and how people react to them. IMHO.

Well, the disturbing effect was some kind of fade to black on the border of the intro fight. It wouldnt have bothered me too much if it was only a short time, but the longer it lasted the more i hoped it disappears soon.

I for myself tried background images for textboxes, i dont think they are really disturbing, but i figured it does get a little bit "messy" and unclear.

As for the "whats going on" part, i dont think anyone could really get everything that happens, thats why i prefere solo videos.
You just see one person of a gang flying around, its okay if the person frapsing is the one that tanks and you see the damage applied, but its allways good to write whats going on if you dont want to do it via audio.

An other thing i wasnt able to get used to was the placement of your locked targets, sometimes you lose the focus on whats happening cause you checked the targets status but maybe thats just me, it should be placed the way it suits you the best.

In the end, the first track is still absolutely horrible :P
