Ok so I have been testing a new hp envy m6 laptop with the a10 apu. Yes it can play eve online without any issues.

min fps is at 60 and max fps in station is at about 180fps.

the cpu runs at 50% so it will never tax the cpu at 100%

as for the turbo boost that amd offers stock clock is at 2.3ghz but with amd overdrive you can lock the cpu at 2.7 ghz with it boosting to 3.2 when it has headroom.

gpu temp never goes over 70c after 8 hours of playing. max temp is i think 100c. the cpu holds at about the same temp with no throttling.

Ill get some screenshots.

specs are

AMD A10 4600M TRINITY CORE.

16GB DDR3 1600MHZ RAM

500GB WD BLACK XT.

15.6 LED DISPLAY

I sure hope not, because if he is, someone is being horribly stupid about how they spend their money.

No this is just a rewiew on how the apu performs playing eve online. There is no info on how the apu performs playing eve online.

So people are not discouraged about buying a amd machine thinking its gonna blow. The a10 apu has surpassed my opionions on where it stands as a solid eve online gaming platform without breaking the bank.Big smile

If you take the 500GB WD and change it for Samsung 840 256GB SSD, you described my server.

AMD? Shocked Get a real job and get an Intel with a proper NVIDIA GPU! Lol

Sorry, but AMD sucks ... unless you're going for a low end cheap computer, in which case, nevermind what I said above! :D

I would assume 1 of 3 things has happend here.

1. He was researching new laptops and googleing "particular model playing EvE" come up with 0 results therefore he thought that by posting what he has might be useful to someone equaly useless in the future.

2. He has upgraded his p4 desktop with some antique 64mb graphics card that used to chug along at 5 fps and in doing so he was so impressed by this new found 100fps @max settings that he feels like he needs to share with the world how awesome his laptop is (it's not btw op).

3. As said above op could be poor in rl, so he has been showing his laptop off to his "poor in rl" family and friends which in turn leads to them saying "wow thats awesome dude" or "man your laptop does everything" or even "wish I could afford to upgrade my p3", after comments such as these he was hoping to recive the same from the EvE community.

Personally I belive it is a combination of 2 and 3.

You just have to love the helpful and friendly EvE community Pirate .

I am also having a hard time guessing what this is about.
You posted some specs, but not how much you paid for the system, so no way to tell if it was worth buying.
If you wanted to let us know, that eve runs on that system...well 5 seconds of googling would have revealed the secret it even runs on the integrated intel chips (hd 3000).

Please try again, post some cpu-z / gpuz specs, eve settings, test jita on the weekends, test some fleet engagements, state what you paid for it.

I am not old, just bitter.

Although i would buy intel+nvidia (again) myself, that shouldnt be the goal. You should know the purpose and buy accordingly. Why pay twice as much for hardware that won't make a difference in the end?

And for quality...all portable systems may die at any time. Warranty is a bigger factor with notebooks.

I don't see why there is so much hate , the AMD a10 (TM) is a great product which is well above the competiton , i recommend it to all the eve players looking to experience Eve on a new level.
