I've removed an off topic post under the following rule.

2. Be respectful toward others at all times.

The purpose of the EVE Online forums is to provide a platform for exchange of ideas, and a venue for the discussion of EVE Online. Occasionally there will be conflicts that arise when people voice opinions. Forum users are expected to be courteous when disagreeing with others.

Please remember to keep it civil. Thank you.

Hmm that may be excellent advice for the forums, but as for the players abusing, what I beleive to be a failed mechanic by placing random Bounties on players they have never interacted with in any way does not work. I fear that any player can put a bounty on any other player just because they can. That means, as it has and serves no purpose, it has no value, then why?

I don't understand the logic behind CCP's descision on this, but it's their game and they call the shots. Sorry, it is their Vehicle for income generation I meant to say.

How is creating player interaction in an MMO, a failed mechanic?

Oh and nice necro. Roll

So, if you are lucky enough to get a bounty, you need to die and lose equipment five times the value of the bounty in order to clear the bounty.

The victim here, the one given the bounty, has to pay to lose something they didnt want and didnt ask for.

The agressor, in this case the one that issued the bounty, does nothing and it costs nothing except the bounty value placed by the agressor.

Good system.

If the bounty expired after one month, and if unclaimed was lost to Concorde, that would be interesting. Place a billion bounty on a char. That char docks up for a month and a day, you lose your bounty money, the victim loses the bounty on his head. That would be interesting too.

No wait, it has to be simpler. You place a bounty, that bounty value is removed from your wallet, and its return value depretiates daily, after thirty days, if unclaimed, has zero value, bounty expires, that would be good too.

Ha, Better still, You place a bounty on another player and any one else adding to the bounty, has that bounty placed sequentiually, not at the same time, but to kick on on expirey of the first instance. Bounty can be good, but to be fair, bounty should place restrictions too, so the larger the bounty, the lower sec you need to be in to be able to transit gates.
Bounty is good.

The first thing I'll tell you is that a bounty doesn't mean a whole lot unless you allow it to. People really won't find you and kill you for the bounty unless you routinely fly ludicrous amounts of bling on your mission ships.

So take it as a badge of honor. I know a guy who uses an alt to make sure the last 3 digits of his bounty are 777, like a slot machine.

Secondly, if it bugs you that much, come on down to Molden Heath, we have a veritable legion of people ready and willing to help take that off your hands. By blowing up your ship, yes, but really that's the only real way to get it taken down.

"Verily, I have often laughed at the weaklings who thought themselves good because they had no claws."

One of ours, ten of theirs.

Best Meltdown Ever.
