Launcher doesn't start, can still play EVE until there is a new update, then I have to reinstall

Everytime I try playing eve I get a little dialogue box that says...

Quote:
(Exception)

No connection could be made to the content server. Please make sure that your Internet connection is up and restart the Launcher.

(Close) (Start Game)


Selecting the Start Game option causes the game to run normally, however, if even the smallest patch was added to the game I will get an incompatible build error and cannot play.

The launcher doesn't start so I can't update it. I've tried every single workaround/fix to the launcher and that didn't, same thing with the repair tool, it just doesn't work no matter what I try.

I installed the game with the offline installer, could that be part of the problem? I don't seem to be able to download the game on this computer with the regular installer though.

The only "fix" seems to be a complete re-install of the game, however this is utterly ridiculous for every single patch.

I did a lot of research and found that there is absolutely no feedback on this issue, particularly the dialogue box. I couldn't even find a GM comment on it and the only other user advice seems to be "keep trying".

My firewall and anti-virus is completely off so that can't be it either.

I've basically tried everything that I could find on the issue with a google search and nothing seems to work.

Help please?

Im having the exact same problem. my launcher isnt updating any more, repair tool doesnt work and when i try to download any patch or fix from ccp side connection times out.
like you i looked for all sorts of solutions, posts from the past and work arounds.
i play eve almost every day, and this problem just occurred yesterday.
i was able to get eve running once by having my brother send me the patchfile, he had no problem downloading it obviously.
today i startet up eve again and somehow its asking for the same patch again and wont accept my manual file in the eve folder this time.
i found some old forum entry were people from the philipines are experiencing the same issues.
but no clear solution was given, someone suggested to change dns settings.
i tried that as well, cleared cach and so on, no success at all.
ccp, we could use some help here

all right guys, liste up everyone, i found the solution
it is a dns problem
i first changed to the open dns but it didnt worked
now i switched to google dns, i changed both ipv4 and ipv6, here is a link how you can do it

maybe it would also be good to flush your dns, just execute ipconfig /flushdns

same problem.

ipconfig /flushdns work but i ve the same problem with the eve updater ( or anything i want to download from eve.com)

your googles tips works fine but dont change nothing on the problem.Ugh

(1 day of skill lost, cause support dont answer me ...)

- uninstall my network card
-windows update
-reset lmy modem
-reinstall my network card

nothing ...

i tryed once again ur google dns tips

nothing...

so i ve add a protocol RMCAST, and just after the client update is working.

i dont no why its work

I decided to do a clean reinstall of EVE, the normal installer failed and so did the offline installer.

So, I downloaded the offline installer from another computer of mine that has never had an issue with EVE and put it onto a flash drive, from there I installed it onto the computer I was having difficulty with and the game works, but I still can't use the launcher or the repair tool.

It appears that I will have to do this every time there is a patch, this isn't crippling, but it is a major inconvenience. I also still get the dialogue box.

How did you add that protocol? Step by step instructions please?

It's also really ridiculous how this has been a problem with many people since the launcher came out and CCP has yet to release a definite work around or solution.

right click on ur network card ( wifi for me)
->properties
->install
->select protocol, then RMCAST was the only option avaible, and i add it.

i dont no if its that who make the client working, perhaps both tips.

so when the upload was finish, my firewall ask me for eveonline.exe a new acces ( i think its because i ve make a serious update of windows 7)

I had this issue as well for about 24 hours. But the Eve launcher is working again since yesterday (2013-04-06, ca 09:30).

No apparent reason why it didn't work. And it runs fine today, even if I didn't do anything to try to fix it.
