WH T3 Subsystem Changeout Proposal

I'm not sure when/if the ability to change out T3 subsystems is coming, but I had a thought.

What if there was a WH anomaly, say an "Abandoned Sleeper Hangar" that had to be rebuilt. This would require the WH dwellers to reverse engineer Sleeper construction techniques and materials, as well as build them, and then repair/rebuild the decrepit Sleeper Hangar once they built the proper supplies and cleared the site.

Rebuilding the Sleeper Hangar may even require lots of Logi support, armor repair and/or cap transfer into the facility as it's being brought online. Imagine being the scout who finds a Hangar being onlined, 20 min to go, with a few Logi's and Support ships working on it? Sounds like the makings for some excitement to me.

They could even make the rebuilt Sleeper Hangars racial where it only serves one races T3.

Once rebuilt, the Sleeper Hangar would let you swap out subsystems.

The Sleeper Hangars would stay in place in the system and would need some sort of defenses that could be anchored along with some type of shield or a small POS. Either way, Strontium would power an incapacitated mode that would let the owners defend it.

This would do a couple of things:

  1. It wouldn't be easy and would add complexity to the life of the WH dweller. Since when does CCP ever let us do anything the easy way, and
  2. Add risk and work to WH life, and
  3. It would keep that strange 'alien' feel to the T3 ships.

99% sure e subsystem swap issue is a technical problem, not gameplay.

You're going to be able to swap subsystems with the POS revamp in June.


Also, T3's and subsystems are built from the materials sleepers provide, they didn't actually build systems themselves.

Yes a technical problem but this is an idea to add content to wormholes while fixing the technical problem.

Source? Haven't seen anything about subsystem refitting.

Even if the POS changes outlined in the devblog hadn't been in the pipeline, this would still be a bad idea.
