I did not vote, never seen the point in CSM to be fair, pretty much my view on normal politics, whoever gets voted in will still disappoint me or not affect me at all as CCP would apply changes in line with the general forum masses rather than what the CSM say

No vote, you lose whatever minority voice you might have had in the CSM's leverage. Not a lot perhaps, but a damn-sight more than other MMOs grant.

Like i said in my post the CSM isn't exactly going to revolutionise the game CCP will still roll out what they want its just a pretty way of making out that they listen :P

These days the game is more about getting subscriptions on the table, if that means dumbing down the game and making it safer then they will (and in several instaces have) roll out the changes they see fit

Then might i suggest you put your vote behind a candidate like Psychotic Monk (a highsec tear extraction specialist) to send CCP the message that they shouldn't make it safer? Silence=consent.

Also I voted.

Also, waiting for my "I voted sticker" CCP Dolan!

Yes I voted.

I like that my vote has more power with the new system but it takes way too long to select 14 candidates. After my top 3 I just went by vote match order.

I don't understand how to place my votes. It's very confusing and there are apparently no instructions. When I drag numbers and candidates, I can't place candidates on top of numbers or vice versa. What am I doing?? Am I the only one having this problem??

-edit-I got the problem solved. You have to drag the candidates to the boxes at the top. It looks wrong, but it isn't.

Thing is it's window dressing.

Other games don't need a layer of fake government like this. They just vote with their wallets. WoW lost 1.7mil players over Cata, Blizzard cut over 600 jobs...yeah, they listened.

The bottom line is the almighty dollar. Everything else is a song and dance.

And we don't need anyone to tell use how to spend it.

Interestingly enough my vote is for psychotic Monk. I never endorse the "dark side" such as suicide ganking and safari but his reasons for doing so reached out too me. This is a game of interactions between players. If no one is interacting what is the point. Any one could get behind this

Yeah, I voted.

It took 2 hours to me to read the platform of most candidates, take the vote match twice etc etc; but in the end I am proud of having voted.

The problem I see is that you have to make too many choices, you don't just set your best candidate but you have to think of all the others. The amount of people voting for CSM will be at an all time low in my opinion.

I voted for 14 and quite honestly, I only recognized half of them which I picked first.

Do I like them? Not particularly.

Also I don't remember the order I placed them.

Does it matter?

Any way to check?

Glad that you included that quote.

Before stepping in the booth voters will be quite liberal with their choices. When they enter it to finally vote, they vote more conservatively (time and time again it shows in elections).

XYZ can claim they voted for ABC...but we really don't know.

For dissenters and the like, we really need an ability to write in candidates as well.

I decided to vote for a bunch of people. Put the names I could recognize at the top then went by the faces. Everybody happy? As long as it's similar to real politics, I get the complain even if I elected the worst candidate right?

There were four candidates that stood out for me; simply because they consider EVE as a whole rather than treating the game as if there are different servers for different security levels. One of those is active on the forums, one of them writes a well thought out blog about the game and the other two are Goons with what reads like good platforms. And I voted the same on all 4 my active accounts.

Good luck to everyone in the running for the CSM; I hope to see what guidance you can offer CCP over the coming year and thank you for standing up to take this responsibility.

This is what I think as well.

In all honesty I didn't even realize it was happening until I noticed the vote threads here. CCP should send a courtesy Eve-mail message (with Candidate Platform / Voter Ballot links) to all active accounts in-game.

Yeah, it's not like they put up splash screens on login or anything.

Yeah, it's not like they put up splash screens on login or anything.

Splash screen is shown once, that's it. Just a general ad that is easily overlooked due to the amount of other ad's always being presented on log in. An Eve-mail message is more personal and will generate a much larger response.
