while i have a semi distrust for goons, i will say that a few articles, including this one make sense.

I certainly require anonymous internet forum warriors to let me know if and when something doesn't come with the integrity of an encyclopedia, and as such don't go reading those potentially biased statements (that are discussed on a separate message board).

The enlightenment of Eve-Os dauntless discussion defenders is priceless.

While you read articles written by anonymous internet forum warriors.

There are some good points to the article and good suggestions. It would definately make the universe of Eve more dynamic IMHO.

Low sec could act as a bridge between corps that want to trade/interact with corps of the opposite faction. For example, A Caldari based corp with standing that give it tax/refining/trade in Caldari space at the expense of negative Gallante/Minmatar standing. It however wants to bridge into the Gallante/Dodixie market. It moves its goods and makes trade via low-sec stations (perhaps even pirate stations) in order to transfer goods to a dummy corp with good Gallante standings...

... perhaps that does not 'improve' gameplay, but it does make it more imersive and interesting. I like the tax/economy ties with the station income/trade and the NPC ties with the player activities as well. It makes the game more dynamic and gives more of a vector for players to influence the game-world.

I think CCP should read the article and implement the ideas.

I'ld also like to point out that IMHO the reason that some players choose high to null sec varies. For some its the more casual gameplay. For others, like myself, its the uninterestingness of blobs and capital fights.

TMC>EN24, my reasons. One is mainly a blog aggregator, for the most part the blogs themselves are on my read daily list anyway so it's handy for that, with the occasional self serving editorial.
The other has staff writers who write, for the most part pretty well, on a variety of subjects and games with the occasional self serving editorial (better written and not so obvious though), I may not agree with half of them but on the whole, they make for good reading.

@ Tippia, I would love to see an article from you on TMC, I regularly point people at your newbie training plan and time to concord blog posts, you don't write nearly enough P

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Glad i could help,i really enjoyed the article, and hope a DEV or someone from CCP takes notice. There should be consequences for your choice of race, and ways to make a smooth transition from high to low and 0.0.I feel your ideas paint a very good vision of what EVE should and can be .Just hope CCP take some or all of them and run with them in future expansions. Also im not a GOON alt or affilated with them in anyway.I read TMC and EN24 and the forums ,because i love this game, and want to be informed..When such a good article imo comes along i think players should know about it,and discuss it ect.James315s ideas are just 0.0 drivel ,and hold no weight with any right thinking player imo.But everyone is entilled to their opinion ,and to express it.

That was an interesting take on things. Implementing those kinds of ideas would certainly help make the NPC sections of the game feel a lot more alive and dynamic and would make it far less static. Follow that with having Incursions actually having a real, tangible and permanent impact if left unchecked; etc.

Nice read, thanks. I keep on forgetting to RSS / Bookmark the site and should go and do it now.

I doubt that'll be the direction CCP is going...

According to Lander, it’s not about making the game easy or making changes that will result in a different game, but instead about making the game more accessible.

“We want people to be able to get to the good parts of our game without having to fight through some of the complexity which is there to be honest either because it just grew up organically over time or because somebody in the early days had quite a sadistic tendency to put people through hell.”

In short, as the game matures (as well as the reams of content) the timesinks that served it's use don't have a purpose, and now it's time to be more user friendly (HINT: need a Wowhead or ZAM for EvE. EQII has ingame linking for quests via ZAM, for example).
