He's dead, he can't do anything.

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

Maybe he's not - maybe he's trolling us?

Why does he want to nuke Austin, Texas anyway? Does he have something against Willie Nelson? Come to think of it, I guess Willie pretty much is the antithesis of North Korean government values. Austin pot-smoking skateboard slackers also.

You just know that when we finally invade NK and capture Mr. Un, we'll find a "bin Laden Style Pleasure Palace" with pornography and lube jars laying about.

And cake, lots of cake.

From what I can gather, NK doesn't have any missiles with the range to actually reach the continental US

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Well I bet that's not far from the truth. His dad had a harem made up of North Korea's most beautiful actresses and singers. Supplemented by a few actresses kidnapped from South Korea. What a pathetic creep.

Nukes, blast and radiation is the very last thing you have to worry about.

Small yield nuclear device detonated 300mile above the center of the USA could fry just about
most emp unprotected electronic devices in the USA.

There was a recent bill that a rino killed that would of made efforts to help prevent the full effects of an emp attack or solar flare.

Considering no power, no transport etc it is estimated in the USA that 90% of people would be dead in the first year.
Starvation, cold, disease, just think the dark ages and your close.

The above could well just as well happen from solar flare activity as well.

That would almost be scary if it were true. But it would require us to have no generators, no Army core of engineers, no vehicles before 1970, and we sat on our hands for that entire year.

TGIF! Big smile
Well, extremely OT here, but I bet tardigrades a.k.a. water bears would survive. Compared to them, a cockroach is a fragile wuss. Consider this:
Tardigrades can withstand temperatures from just above absolute zero to well above the boiling point of water.
They can survive pressures greater than any found in the deepest ocean trenches.
They have lived through the vacuum of outer space.
They can survive solar radiation, gamma radiation, ionic radiation— at doses hundreds of times higher than would kill a person.
They can go without food or water for nearly 10 years, drying out to the point where they are 3% or less water, only to rehydrate, forage, and reproduce.

And they're also kind of adorable.

Solar flare or CME is less likely to do that - possible, but Earth's own magnetosphere is pretty good protection. A high-altitude nuclear device however, is 'inside the armor,' so-to-speak.

Actually though, it'd need to be bigger than a 'small yield' device. And right now, all NK can produce are essentially micro-yield and squibs. Plus, he'd have a damned hard time placing it with his crappy balistic devices.

I'm far more worried abuot what he could do to the economy by simply attempting conventional war against South Korea. We've got a lot of important global economic activitiy tied to South Korea.

Still not over the whole Y2K thing, eh?

North Korea's 10,000+ artillery tubes is far more scary then their pathetic bombs and amateur rockets.
