Bit of a query here as I was scanning some sigs earlier and found one that would allow cruisers and below. Now, i was scanning the sig with a t3 cruiser yet I could not enter the accelaration gate but my alt in a non t3 cruiser could?

Am i wrong in thinking this was just frickin stoopid?

This one time, a guy trained T3, and thought he won all eve.

But a HAC will work. (Heavy Assault Ship - not even having "cruiser" in it's name)

It's an inconsistency - balanced, yes but still the description should be a tad clearer for newer players to understand.

Lol so

you couldn't get in an acceleration gate in your t3

so you come to forums

make a whine thread because you know it's not a bug

and give it the title "Is Eve Broken?", implying that YOUR world being shattered into tiny pieces over this minimal setback has carried on to annihilate the rest of the Eve universe, and all the players who inhabit it...

Yes, very borken!™ because a T3, that is at least on par with T1 battleships in terms of DPS and way better than them in terms of tank can not get into a site that is restricted for battlecruisers and up.

Seriously, use your brain please before labeling something as stupid.

Probably going to freak when he finds out you can't use torps with the Tengu.

If your battleship can't out dps a T3, it needs to be quietly retired to the refinery and turned into minerals and then built into one that can.

The gate restrictions have typos, and inconsistencies amongst races, ie cut-n-paste is well understood for making exploration encounters, but the developers were apparently not very good at it. I believe that for example a serpentis lookout will let all sorts of cruisers in, but a gurista one won't.

If it particularly concerns the OP and is ruining his life, he can petition the bug.

Well, had you read my post carefully, you would understand the point. A properly fit Tengu will out-dps a properly fit T1 battleship easily while maintining a better tank. My battleships are fine though since I don't use T1 to begin with for that very reason, tanks for your concern though. ;)

Yes, it's cut and paste in the restriction department but it takes a minimum effort to memorize which ship goes in what site or a one minute look at the wiki.

Still, the point are not the wonky ship restrictions (Gurista Hideout coming to my mind here in particular) it's that the principle of restricting the (in theory) big guns while letting T3s in is something to reconsider to begin with.

Sure, OP can Petition whatever he likes for as much as he likes but there is very little point in wasting his time - the logic behind the restriction in this case is sound.

gotta lol at some of your pretty amazing and stoopid responses.
there was no whining involved or shattering of my world / thoughts of suicide, it was just a simple query as i was sure i was perhaps missing something.
However, i shall be more careful in future of asking fellow capsuleers for advice given the rage felt from a simple question. On a side note, i have not specifically trained up for a t3, i just decided to as i thought it would save swapping ships so often.

Well, you got trolled because your drama inducing post title.

And btw, first guy explained reason for your t3 being blocked at gate with 100% accuracy.

Jeeze, where did all these spiteful trolls come from? Must be due to no longer being able to post in GD.

Anyway, it would be helpful to know the site name.

One thing to remember is when using a T3 Cruiser, you'll still be able to access a majority of the sites. Gate restrictions are not standardized with similar exploration sites in other Factions. Some sites will only allow T1 Cruiser, others will allow T2 Cruiser and still others will allow T3 Cruisers.

Just another example of CCP's fine programing and balancing protocols.

On a side note, pods are not allowed to access Acceleration Gates. I use to exit my ship and access the gate to get a message showing all ship classes allowed.

It allows HAC's because it says "allows Heavy Assault Ships," not because it says "allows Cruisers."
