If only it looked like that in the end. Some symmetry and finally not batshit ugly to look at. We can only hope :)

Do any of you understand that CCP's plan is to upgrade all the older ship designs to the new art style?
Comparing that the new designs don't match the older designs is just silly, of course they don't, that's the point.
Eventually all the ships will have new designs in line with the new art style. Course at the rate that CCP is doing this, 2 per year, it will be a long time before they're all updated, aka 45+ years...

Yeah I would love to see the good ol' Gallente ships redesigned. Though I have to say that the Raven is an ugly beast and I hope they completely change it like they did the Scorpion to make it sort of attractive and not look like pooooo.

About the Amarr ships, the Maller was one of the best looking Amarr ships... though that isn't saying much. The new one kicks it's ass in every way other than the color department.

I dont recall to many gallente ships needing the face lift except the astrometrics ship.

Regarding the maller - the new and old one are both ugly. Debating them is is like debating your preference of dental anesthesia - everyone has already lost at that point. Big smile

I think the point of the new raven is just to get the texture model upgraded, and it is a popular ship, so why not start there?

For people saying Gallente ships are symmetrical, you need to look closer. About half are not, with lots of little bumps and tumorous growths in odd places (And I fly a lot of gallente ships). Amarrian and Minmatar ships are the most symmetrical in the game. Caldari also have many symmetrical ships (Drake much?).

Anyhow, cheers on higher res models, hope to see more soon!

If the Raven we are getting is the one in the Vid then I am disappointed. I can only hope they end up making it symmetrical before it is done. Even if the wings just remotely looks close to each other then I will be happy.

I did not like the raven at first as it was nto symetrical.

It did grow on me and I really do like it.
The part I like least is the bridge sticking way out on a neck...just waiting to get shot at.

I took a huge dump earlier today. The turd looked like crap, just like any other turd that I've created over the years. The same comparison can be used here, the new Raven looks like crap, just like the old Raven.

For god's sake make it simetrical normal ship. Yes there are many uber peeveepers who want untraditional asymmetrical ships, so give them those uber peeveepee ships looking like ugly asymmetrical pile of crap, but for normal common folks please make normal symmetrical looking ships, and everybody will be happy.

This new model is almost same as old, it is still ugly and asymmetric. (in fact this new ship looks even more ugly than old one)
This "new" model start to look like all WiS thing - huge hope and promises but delivered... little peace of ... well, You know what.

Symmetry is the work of the devil. I like asymmetry in all of the Caldari ships. So I like this "update" instead of a redesign of the old Raven. Just like they did with the Scorp. I do agree Moa might need some work, then again, I hardly see them. The new model for the Condor that was leaked a while back also does away with the asymmetry of an iconic ships, which I find, regrettable.

Holy Amarrian ships should not be touched, unless by the hand of God. The new Maller isn't bad its a bulky and aggresive presence yet I find myself longing for the old model sometimes. It sleek connecting armor plates did have a nice feel and look to it.

Humans like symmetry. mostly it goes back to nature - symmetry is sign of good health and genes, while asymmetry shows problems in organism. Since nature and humans was created by God that means that symmetry is feature of things intended by god.

Caldari ships that need work urgently : Osprey, Balckbird, Raven .
Caladri ships that need work but it is not urgent: every caladri ship except Scorpion.

Edit: Yes my bad - on thing I can agree with You Moa is one of those epicly ugly ships.

For hell's sake, CCP, stop making unsymmetrical ships. They look butt ugly and they don't make sense from an engineering perspective. We could also do with less "catamaran" style ships in which major sections of the primary hull are inexplicably divided from each other.
