seems to be much more prevalent here than in other internet forums/games. often it's slipped into posts or on team speak without any real relevance to the topic.

stuff like "ya those 200mm autocannons really sting, i have a girlfriend, but i can pick them up in jita pretty cheap now"

or

" align to evati IV, watch local, lol my wife haaaates me playing eve, warp to gate, jump jump jump"

why is this?

Older population. More likely to be in a stable relationship.

Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

Because people consider their corp and fleet mates to be friends, and you talk about your wife and girlfriends with friends?

Heck, in my corp, we even talk about our jobs, home improvement projects we're working on, vacations we're taking (have taken).

What's the matter with that? Does it offend you because you are an unemployed loser, that lives in ya' momma's basement, and can't get no love from a human that has a vag?

A professional astro-bastard was not available so they sent me.

You called me? I must have missed it.

Rant? Mentioning that testicle growth is a bad thing, is hardly a rant.

Bizarre? Trying to add some off-topic humor. Would you rather I injected a "Who the F' are you to think you can tells others how they should play the GAME!"?

Doesnt that kind of defeat your OP where you claim its more so in EVE than anywhere else?

What exactly was the purpose of this topic? :/

BoBwins Law: As a discussion/war between two large nullsec entities grows longer, the probability of one comparing the other to BoB aproaches near certainty.

Because most of us are men and men have an innate need to let other men know that they are "getting some" on the regular. The fact that you are on comms with a bunch of nerds who ain't getting any makes it even sweeter.

I'm gonna have to go with the "Eve has an older demographic and is thus more likely to be attached" view aswell. Plus Eve players as less likely to batshit insane at the mention of a girl/woman. OP excepted, of course.

Be glad not too many players are using video comms yet.

Otherwise you might accidentally see these alleged "wives" and "girlfriends" many of which will turn out to be pr0n and tissues.

edit: really CCP? Pr 0n is filtered?
