So, because this is a "GAME":

I do missions and be happy then someone warps on me and steal my loot
I shoot the wrecks to prevent him from stealing the loot
He ask for 100 mill or he wardec because I shot the wrecks to prevent him from stealing "MY" LOOT
he wardec and clearly states that he will not allow me to do missions or anything anymore
Then when we complain about this **** we get answer "This is a GAME, and that is NORMAL GAME play"

Thank you "GAME"

Wait, if You destroy the wrecks anyway, why do You care about the loot he's taking Question

Can't You ask a corpie/friend/buttler to loot while You shoot?

Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

Your correct response is to drop to NPC corp, pay the 11% tax, and go right on missioning.

No you aren't, and no you haven't. Making everything the same is not best for everyone. What's best for everyone is to provide games that suit all tastes, not to make all games suit one taste.

This game suits one of those tastes, and it is not yours. Making it suit you means everyone (including you) is worse off. The solution to your problem is to find a game that fits you, not to make every game be the same bland and boring morass of non-interactivity.

Quote:
Because it's fun. Because it's different. Because it's inclusive.
Removing what makes a game unique is not inclusive. It inherently exclude all the people who likes those unique features. If you were really about inclusiveness, you'd understand how to include yourself in the game as it stands, not attempt to exclude people from this game and from every other game where you're campaigning to be equally exclusive.

Quote:
In the USMC they have a saying and it goes like this: "Either be a leader; a follower; or get the hell out of the way".
…and by being vastly different; by not being what you want; by not trying to follow in the footsteps of other games and copy their gameplay, EVE leads. So get out of the way.

By the way, if you were even remotely leader material, none of the trivial gameplay hickups you're having such massive problems with would faze you in the slightest. But you're not a leader, so they do — a lot.

My Sister asked the same about some guinea pigs we once had.

They died one winter, out in the cold... lying besides each other, almost like someone poisoned and then made a display of them... very sad, almost romantic.... -.-

I was charged with burrying their rotten carcasses in the nearby woods once the ground wasn't frozen anymore because nobody else dared to touch the filthy things.

Best not to put that burden on Your shoulders and give them away before they get old.

Here's the thing ...

most games

1. go kill x of y
2. bring me x of y item back
3. 1 & 2 combined
4. repeat til you're level capped.

That's it, you get scripted and boring missions that you repeat ad nauseam. MAYBE you get something a little "different" from time to time (find and save my daughter) ... but even those get overused between L0 and L50

now, here's where EVE differs -- you have the unscripted ... that jackass who steals your loots, or salvages the wrecks, or just plain kills you becasue he can. Hell, we did stuff like this to each other back in the D&D days (******* rogues).

You have a choice right here and now:

1. HTFU and embrace the trials and tribulations that come with having the freedom to engage anyone at any time for any reason (even if it's for no reason at all) ... maybe get in on the action, get some people together, and start deccing the pirates who're "griefing" your gameplay
2. Admit that EVE may not be your cup of tea, and move on to some other game. That's OK, it happens.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

You forgot :

3. Ignore all the above, continue to play a video game you dislike, beg the developers to forget everything they've learned in a life time of making games and expect them to change a game based solely on your expertise gained from your hardcore 6 days of experience.

(Yea, we know Ace isn't just 6 days old but rather an older player trolling the forums with an agenda. But lets play along, shall we? Big smile )

Actually, testicle growth is a very serious concern. If not accompanied by serious pain, it is a strong indicator of cancer. Just like women are told to do with their boobies, men should fondle their nuts monthly to catch irregular testicle growth early.

Failure to identify and have that growth treated early will likely result in... Well, there is a reason my wife calls me lefty, and it ain't because I'm left handed.

EvE is a Schadenfreude Stock Exchange. Competitards from all over come to harvest tears, because it's lol so randum XD XD.

Those "gamers" (we'll see below that they aren't such) will fund several accounts so as to maximize the odds of reaping such tears. Their prey will fund several accounts also, so as to offset those odds.

CCP wins, since the business model of this pathetic game is based on sadism and masochism, both of which push people to fund alts and alts and alts.

Ace Uoweme wrote:

EvE isn't anything like the real world. A game isn't about the real world. If it was we'd actually have a real police force in EvE, a jail for those awaiting trial, and an execution house for the condemned waiting to be executed.

So the scammers; drug sellers and murderers in EvE don't face real world consequences. Why? EvE is just a game.

And yet the aforementioned competitards will in the same breath, tell that "it's just a gaem lol u mad ?", and that "u mad bc we fight u 10 on 1? breaking news buddy in war everything goes, does the military fight only when playfield is even? u mad?"

They're not really playing a game, they're betting with their alts and assets in the Schadenfreude Stock Exchange. Their goals are not ingame, such as assets and isk. Their goal is to make some random joe mad over the internet, by indulging in cheap shots they think is proper pvp gameplay.

This is the breed of "gamers" that forced UO into sharding: a server for the competitards who only care about winning, however cheap and annoying for their fellow player it might be, and a server with hardcoded pvp rules for everybody else. Said hardcoding takes gameplay freedom away, preventing decent gamers from the occasional and very much funny killing spree.

Such competitards are not really gamers. They play-to-win, nothing else. They don't play for fun. If there was an ingame option to detonate all other ships on grid at the cost of 1 isk, they'd go for it every time, because it's lol so randum XD XD. They're only after feeling good about themselves by making some unknown dude feel bad and "owned".

For them, anonymous multiplayer platform are zero-sum-games. They can't comprehend that you can have more fun by actually indulging in make believe, and taking some care so that your opponent has fun too. Zero-sum-game: they're only having fun if their opponent has negative fun, i.e. is annoyed ("u mad bro?").

To sum it up, this breed of "gamers" play AGAINST other gamers, while a balanced, coherently empathetic individual will play WITH other gamers, even if he does not know them. In pvp, this will translate as pirates honoring ransoms, using light RP, not going for worthless targets, or as pod pilots not engaging out of the blue, just because they can.

CCP struck gold when they understood that the AGAINST crowd was ready to fund legions of alts to cheap shot the WITH crowd, a portion of which (the one which does not leave) is masochistic enough to fund legions of alts also.

Nah. However, thanks to androderm patch, I now have a testosterone level above average for someone my age.

So, instead of "grow a pair" a better saying may be "slap on a patch".

It is amazing how many people see my patch and assume I'm trying to quit smoking. Really? Have you seen the typical 46 year old smoker? They don't look like me.

Then again, maybe they just assume I'm a 35 year old smoker, rather than a 46 year old non-smoker.

Wait... what was the point?

Oh yeah. Testicle growth is a bad, bad thing. Get that checked out RIGHT AWAY! End of public service announcement.

I don't think I've ever read a post that takes so many words to express a complete lack of understanding of how most games and competitive sports are played... or the motivations of those who choose to play aggressively against the interests of other players in a game that revolves around that concept.

Bottom line, in EvE you are expected to protect yourself and those you choose to ally yourself with. The game mechanics will not do that for you. There is no shame in not being able to do so, everyone is better at some games than at others, however accusations slung at those who can (and enjoy doing so) only succeed in making you look petty and somewhat pathetic.

Why on earth would some like you choose to play EVE?

You don't like competition, conflict, harshness etc. and you don't like PVPrs (pvp players aren't the only competitive people in games, but tend to be the most competitive). You seem to need and desire "cooperative" gameplay.

So you choose to play EVE? The MMO worlds cesspit of Evil (one mans evil is another mans epic).

No, i sorry, it's not the people who you are complaining about that is the problem (of which I'm not one, I'm not much into pvp these days, don,t grief or scam or desire the tears of anyone etc etc).

No, the problem is folks like you and Ace (unless your actually the same person, which is possible lol) thinking you're literally God come down to save the poor retched wayward evil video game players, to teach people how ti really should be.

Despite the fact that there are hundreds of games that cater to folks like you (and prevent folks like those you despise from hurting you), here you sit in a game you have, wanting it to change to some bland nothing so you can abandon it for yet another hardcore game filled with hardcore gamers for you to hate. Because at the end of the day, thats what you really desire. It's not cooperati9ve and safe gameplay by generally good natured people you want, you WANT something to HATE.

The EVes and Darkfalls of the world are filled with people who want tears yes, but they are also filled with folks like you who need an enemy to dislike in order to feel smart and superior. Beneath all the BS, you're no different from that which you clai to hate.
